Kinda Freaking Out

I cannot seem to find really any threads about running a 18x8.5 with 48mm offset rim (w/ 225/45r18 tire) on a speed6. I bought them out of impulse at last minute, because they were so cheap and clean; got them on craiglist.

Btw I am running stock suspension .....

So far i've read that my suspension might rub on part the wheels, but before I bought them I stupidly trusted a guy at American Tire who said I can pull it off with no problems.

If you wondering what the wheels are they are xxr 518's.

:sad2:

thanks,

probably not a big deal.

Yea thats what I was thinking after I just put them on to see how they will fit. I still have around a finger width between the suspension parts and the tire (which is the same on my stock tires and rims).

I'm running 18x8.5 with a +38 offset and the same tire dimensions as you are and am not having any problems on my speed3. Keep in mind however my fenders are rolled flat in the rear.

Yea I found a lot of people running my setup on a speed3 but nothing on a speed6. Haha Im only freaking out because Im running on a budget, and don't have time to play around until summer.

levon.mark 03-24-2013 04:14 PM

is anyone running this setup on a speed6? :x

Probably not but mine were $19 on eBay so I'd order then just in case. And you might not need a roll on stock suspension

went from 215 45's to 225 45's on my speed6 a few days ago..that lasted all of 14 hours and 5 miles (home..and back to discount tire)... I immediatly took em back..doing a even trade for 225 40's...BUT i'm lowered. since you still on 4x4 mazda offroad suspension you are prolly ok.

ahhh but you think it makes a difference that i'm running a speed6?

LaraS 03-31-2013 05:48 AM

18x8.5 ET45+ here. Initially had 225/45-18. Rear fenders rolled. No rubbing at all. Just swapped to 235/40-18 with rubbing only on low dips in the road.

Hm, but I am guessing your running H&R springs right?

LaraS 03-31-2013 07:35 PM

Correct.

Kinda Freaking Out

18 x 8.5 et 45 with 245/40 tires on KW V1 coilovers. My rears are rolled & pulled and I still rub under hard compression.

EDIT: just noticed OP has a MS6 and I have a GenJuan MS3. Nevermind.

Worse comes to worse ...get a baseball bat, a cloth and a heat gun and roll your rear fenders. I was running some +35 offsets and they rubbed baaaad before I rolled. If you run a +48 you will be fine. I think that's close to stock ... maybe they were +55 i cant remember.

If you feel a bit of rubbing, go to home depot, buy a heat gun, borrow a baseball bat and get a towel and roll your fenders. Return the heat gun :) FREE Fender Roll.
