Got some pictures for you.

Got the block cleaned, bored, decked, main studs installed, and line honed. Up next is the final hone on the cylinders.

Head is ported, guides are installed and honed, will be starting the valve job Monday.

Thanks guys, she had no idea it was coming, I talked a friend into blocking me going into turn 1 so that I would be forced to go on the oval and have a nice view of the road course from the 22-degree banking.

Well i showed this video to Valerie and she just kinda gave me this disappointed look, apparently she is now unimpressed with how i proposed. Way to raise the bar man haha, congrats. She looked super happy.

That's just a woman thing. Anytime they see something cute or thoughtful, they get jealous. My wife and I were watching Raising Hope and she got jealous of their proposal.

Picked up the engine, hopefully @KotzurRacing; will post more pictures from the build. Should start transferring the peripherals from the old engine onto the new one after the New Year.

This month is super busy at work so I only have time to work about 2 hrs at the shop every day.

Today I pulled the turbo off and will be sending it off tomorrow to Brian for an upgrade to the v2 hot side which will hopefully alleviate boost creep I experience in cooler weather. The turbo outlet had some oil on it when I pulled off the silicone hose, and there was a shitload of oil inside the hose. I think all this shit got there through the valve cover, this is why I will be running a vented catch can with two vents off of the valve cover.

The clutch is done and I will be ordering another ACT 6 puck, never had a problem with shifting even with the clutch looking like that and the TOB shot. Not sure what the wear pattern indicates, maybe I feathered the clutch too much rather than dumpin it?

Here's some pictures from today. I pulled the EM off and it looks like one exhaust valve in cylider 3 is a little bent. The EM is dirty but no cracks, RaceBuilt did an excellent job, shame he turned out a scammer.

I emailed Southbend pictures of the ACT clutch and they said:

Those types of things will occasionally happen with high abuse and heat, There's really no getting away from it without going to a full carbon multi-plate set-up. Our Mazdaspeed kits have their own flywheel and do not interchange with ACT's stuff. The kit I would recommend would be the stage 2 Drag. It retails at $1122 and holds 450 tq at the engine.

I think this is what I will be going with, worth a try.

Installed a new water pump and transferred the water pump pulley, idler, and tensioner to the new engine.

What's your rationale for picking the Crower 65lb springs? Are you planning on revving it out past 7200 or so rpm?

For the sake of discussion, though i don't know how much it would really help the clutch, have you considered adding external oil coolers at this time? Transmission, diff(s), engine, etc?

I did a BSD so the oil pan will now hold 7 qt of oil, just this should make the oil run a bit cooler. Will be installing oil pressure and oil temp gauges and go from there.
