Default My COBB AP Mounting Bracket...

I searched for a while and saw what everyone else was doing for mounting their AP's. The vent one looked handy, but I didn't want to restrict the air flow... The JBR mount looked sturdy but I didn't want it mounted so low. Same problem with mounting it with velcro near the shifter. I also didn't want to velcro it directly to anything in the interior so I could avoid the residue. And having it mounted right in the dash was too distracting for me.

Inspired by the way the Dashhawk can be mounted, I decided to make my own! I went to home depot and picked up a metal bracket, cut it to size, plasti-dipped it for the color and to cover the sharp edges, cut out a piece of the plasti-dip so I could add velcro and... done! The bracket is just pressed in and stays pretty well. It's still within normal driving view but also doesn't block anything. Overall, a cheap but seemingly effective mounted method!

Nice idea. I have been wondering how hard it would be for someone like Block8head to take a cp-e or lotek 3 gauge center pod and form one of the holes to work for an ap instead.

Having a 12 second Honda is just like coming out of the closet; You're going to surprise a bunch of people, but in the end you're still gay.

Yeah that would be nice. It would look a lot cleaner too.

I like it.

How does this mount exactly? What kind of bracket is it?

I just press the bracket into the little slot next to the center display area (no idea what it's called). The pic is some random interior, but the arrow is pointing to what I'm talking about.

The bracket is just a thin, metal L-bracket. I found it among various shapes of brackets for woodworking, I'm guessing. I plasti-dipped it (particularly the part that is pressed into the slot) so it wouldn't scratch anything.
