(Thread Starter) | Not Ranked : 0 score My upgrade plan (while avoiding killing the 3 years left on my warranty): SRI Turbo Inlet BOV (with boost gauge) RMM Downpipe What are your thoughts on the upgrade order? I have little money to spare between bills, rent, and a car payment. So these are things I will be saving for in the future. Edit: I do plan on donating to check out the buy/trade forum as well Also noticed the Stage II SRI with inlet IS carb legal. Herp derp I need to read more.

A lack of CC would cause a failed inspection and a CEL. A test pipe would delete the secondary CC, but the primary is contained in the downpipe. As long as the primary is there, you are ok. That's why test pipes are pretty common mods. You should do a CDFP upgrade before a downpipe. I went with a set of AutoTech internals and am very pleased. The stock internals are the same as the VW 2.0T and really have trouble supporting what we are capable of with mild bolt-ons... especially if you start feeding in more boost.

Thanks for the tips guys. Hopefully I'll start modding soon. Trying to sell a gun I have on gunbroker that I have not used in the while. So that should net me around $400 to begin with.

fellow Charlotte native here well i say native lol just moved here 8 months ago but love it! What part you live in? Also the mod path looks great, but i agree with the others just start having fun with searching and reading. So much to take it but reading and google searching msf forums will give you a lot to take in!Also yeah no code and your good to go, at least thats how it was in Georgia, i have not had to get tested in NC yet.

![]() I am selling a CZ-75 Cold War Commemorative Edition. It's number 691/999 and only 500 were released in the US. Here is my posting on gunbroker.com. If you would like I'd be willing to do a trade for parts plus cash or cut you a bit of a deal since you are on the forums. Of course a transfer would have to be done through an FFL. If you have any questions let me know. Last edited by mstvartak; 07-19-2012 at 06:19 AM. | |

I agree with what the others have said, in NC it's generally "no code" and you're good to go. The inspection stations are suppose to check and make sure that the car has all of the stock pollution control devices in place and functional, but most just plug it into the ODB computer and pass it. If you're unsure, I can point you to the place that just passed mine. (i have the corksport SRI and TIP)

i don't know if this has been covered yet, but CARB = California Air Resources Board. AKA America's premier envirocommies for 40+ years. I'm not sure about the ins and outs, but these links should help: SmogTips.com - Passing the Visual Smog Check Inspection. Visible Smoke Test. Smog technician will visually inspect for the proper connection of emissions components. Which components are inspected? EGR Exhaust Gas Recirculation Valve. Air Injection P Automotive Testing and Development Services, Inc. Since you're in NC, the CARB # isn't of any particular interest to you. You will need to figure out what the NC smog process involves.
