Default Shifter plate/ Short shifter

So one of my next mods is going to be a short shifter or shifter plate. Im not exactly clear on a few things. So a shifter plates goes in the engine bay on the trans and I know what a short shifter is.

So if a shifter plate goes on the trans and the short shifter is in the vehicle can you install both and get a ridiculous amount of shft reduction? or is that just a completely insane idea?

You could but most people don't. Short shifter can also reduce the knob height. This to me looks cool, but isn't practical due to the position of the shifter in relation to the armrest etc. Shift plates are inexpensive and easier to install. It's all about personal preference.

The shifter replacements out there replace the lever that your shift knob threads on to. I guess some folks have issues with the stock shifter shearing off so it helps eliminate a possible weak point there.

I've never had a short shift plate but I have JBR's short shifter and it works as advertised to reduce the semi looking shifter setup our cars came with and does make the shifts significantly shorter. It does however have some rotational slop that i'm not a big fan of, but corksport has one with a different design that people are pretty happy with.

I have an old E4P (defunct) short shifter. It's nice. I did use a SSP too for years, recently removed to try it without again. I kinda miss it, throw is longer than I like, hits the cups in the holder a bit more than I like. Probably my 8 ball knob though.

Alright I was just seeing if using the 2 together would give an even shorter throw than just one or the other. If it wont give a shorter throw than id rather just have a real short shifter cause that shifter height is super odd. Thanks guys

FWIW I think a few people have run both but I don't think our transmissions like shifting that quick.
