SURE aeros installed!

Well after a week of waiting my SURE aeros with the new MAF housing came in the mail, installed it the same day. Im loving the sound and i can finally hear the turbo! butt dyno says good gains, and ive noticed im getting slightly better mpg's as well. i was averaging 21.7mpg and now getting 23.5 mpg via the stock compy. here are a few pics

My car escaping the horrid chicago weather.

My bad ass sure t next to the intake

installed pretty easily other than the tubing being tight to the maf and not being able to rotate it. looks good.

sorry, accidentally put it in the gen1 forum, if a mod can move it i would really appreciate it. and no i have not yet. no cel so far so thats good, i need a way to monitor ltfts , afr, kock and all that. once i get some cash i will be picking up an ap so ill do some logs for you guys to look at.

emag remrofni 04-23-2011 07:51 PM

Congrats. I still kind of wish I got an aeros but whatever.

Looks like it's time for a drop!

DONOTBUGME 04-23-2011 07:53 PM

for 70 bucks you can get an ultra gauge that will monitor ltft, stft, fuel pressure, and a bunch of others. It doesnt monitor knock or afr. UltraGauge Automotive Information Center and OBDII Scan Tool

Soto 04-23-2011 07:54 PM

AP isnt out yet for 2011

we have to wait on that one...

=(

Otherwise, it looks good

thats really cheap. i hate to admit it, but i wouldnt really know whats good and whats bad as far as fuel trims go. i understand fp is not to drop below 1600psi, and what is rich and what is lean as far as afr goes.

just ordered an ultra gauge. ill need your help decyphering the ltfts and stfts

dizzin9 04-23-2011 08:06 PM

i am jelly.

DONOTBUGME 04-23-2011 08:09 PM

well when I had my K&N intake I would have lfts of around 3-9 and stft were +- 3-10. You get an cel if combined they go +- over 25. Ultra gauge doesnt monitor afrs but the norm during wot is mid to high 11s. With the stock tune your afrs will drop into the 10-9s (rich) higher in the rpm band. You dont want to see you fp drop under 1600 during wot.

ok, so i should watch stfts and ltfts and make sure combined not over 25, i knew about the fp being under 1600. but is that the only thing i need to watch for as far as fuel trims go?

i know the ecu only throws codes when things are extremely bad so is there a point where i should be worried if they hit?

DONOTBUGME 04-23-2011 08:17 PM

I doubt you will have a problem after sure redid the maf housing. The ultra gauge is good to cause you now can see your intake temps and coolant temps.

yeah, much better than just wondering what fuel pressure and such is,the price was right so i figured might as well get it now. just worried about windshield mounting it, it looks like a gps, i dont want a window broken out lmao.

DONOTBUGME 04-23-2011 08:24 PM

For mounting I just use some velcrow tape and covered the left screen on the top of the dash. The one that shows fuel avgs. I dont have the tech package so that screen is useless

Sure Aeros? Got any info on this? Where do you find it and so on?

Thanx

silvapain 04-26-2011 01:44 PM

Is Googling it really too hard for you?

streetunit.com is a great place call and talk to mark.:usa:

versyejr 04-26-2011 03:00 PM

Thanx. . . yes I googled it to find out what I wanted to know, but the info some of you guys have is far more enlightening than you find on a website. This is why I ask.

How does the Sure compare to the Corksport intake? The Corksport is cheaper and you seem to get more bang for your buck.

Thanx

oh10speed3 04-26-2011 03:13 PM

The Corksport is only cheaper if you're planning on buying the SRI and TIP combo...And I'm not even sure that you can buy just the SRI from Corksport

blakkat 04-27-2011 03:44 PM

got my ultra gauge today. im currently monitoring:
engine temp
ltft
stft
fuel pressure
load %
intake temp
mass g/s

anything else i should be monitoring?

DONOTBUGME 04-28-2011 01:00 AM

Waiting on results. I'd like to go with the SURE Rmm and SRI, of course if the MAF housing is the correct size for gen 2 and the trims are good.

ill have to write them down tomorrow when i go for a drive, but as i remember ltfts we're somewhere around 4.6, and stfts never got above 4. ill get an exact number tomorrow.

If that is the case, you just made a SURE customer out of me.

A mod needs to move this to Gen 2 already.

blakkat 04-29-2011 04:42 PM

WOT ltft's are 7 at highest and stfts never greater than 5
