Default VTCS removal how to ??

looking to remove the vtcs and i get the part of welding or using epoxy to fill in the hols.. but what about the solenoid ? will atr shut the cell off ?
i have read some post about it but a nice how to would be great !

Well i am looking to do this but not to keen on how to do the vac. lines and how to not get a cell.
I have this extra mani i am messing with and i did this and wanted to know from anyone if it will work or not ??
I took the rod and flappers out.. cut the rod at the end so it was flush with the inside port.
then reinstalled .. seems like it would think the rod/flappers are still there.. correct ??
Then i am going to JB weld the holes in the ports where the rod once was, then sand it all the ports smooth ect...all while keeping the vac. lines sensors ect hooked up..
what ya guys think ?? Is there any gain bye doing this mod ??

thats probably not a bad idea if you don't want to do the resistor mod to eliminate the CEL.

ATR wont shut the cell off ?

I am wanting to do stuff when i have my mani off when i do my CPE injector seals...
EGR block off with plug in mani.
maybe a SURE gasket ,and the VTCS delet..

i was out looking just now and i see only one vacuum line going to the top of the mani ( the black box thingie with some sort of sensor )
i see one little hole would need to be sealed ( vacuum hole that vents into the bottom of the black box ) other than that.. just unplug both plugs ?? remove the whole mess on top of the mani and the bulbus plunger thing on the end ?

remove every single component from the VTCS. ATR will shut off any cels associated with it.

you dont need to fill in the holes between the runners but u DO need to plug the hole on the top of the mani and on the right side where the rod basically exits the mani.

Can you pass an obd2 plug in if you shut off the cel with ATR?

I'll be upgrading to an pnp'd IM soon without VTCS as well.

I've heard good things about the IM spacer gasket and the TB coolant bypass with lowered BAT's. I'm going to do this all at the same time while the mani is off.

one last question.. when you shut off the code.. do you do it in your map in atr ?
or is it a global setting in ATR ..

so every map you have.. you have to shut the desired code off...??

well you do it in global ATR, but then you save it to the map...i'm not sure if it reverts back after you close or not.

for those that don't want to deal with relay and other things to get rid of the codes you just want to get rid of the butterflies. Well you can just cut the rod and install the diaphram back into the intake and your golden. How ever it will LOOK better if you were to get rid of it all together. here are a couple of pics i took quickly this morning in response of jracers PM to me... I am porting this intake so i put the diaphram back in there for this picture so you can see what it looks like when the rod is cut.

Once you cut it and you install it back in the intake the diaphram will do just as it is supposed to and the ECU will not know the at the butterflies are gone. As for the box on top you can get rid of that and i just either jbweld the hole shut or you can tap it and put a plug in there... What ever floats your boat...
