Glad you're OK Eric, that really blows... You know, with the whole smell situation, maybe you can get insurance to pay for a new interior and upgrade the seats. Won't help the stank in your vents, but you could install some nice ass-huggers... or ass-cuppers; whichever you prefer.

That bucket had a fucking mission if it made it under your car haha. That's just awful what people lose and leave on the road. I almost got into a fight with a mattress, and a smashed lamp the other day. Good to hear it didn't cause anymore damage or a tire blowout.

Sorry to hear that! But you're ok and in one piece so you have the same ability and more determination to rebuild whatever else you'll get. And that's all it matters (at least I'll still have someone to sell me shit to enhance my fail ).

As for such a big bucket getting under... well, the bucket is plastic, the front bumper is not that stiff either and it moves up and down "when necessary"... and when bad luck shows its ugly sucky face shit happens. This is a car (was), not a snow plow, so even big stuff may get underneath.

it might be worth reporting this to your city or township. im not sure how it works in the USA but in most parts of canada when the road damages your car the city can held up for the bill. i know a city near me pays out almost a million a year for people tripping on uneven sidewalks and destroyed rims and tires. i know the bucket wasnt a part of the road but its more their fault than yours. your taxes pay for a road that you assume should be safe. worth a try.
