Thanks! I know where the belt goes(shown in link) but the belt seems too tight. Is there a tensioner to adjust to get the belt on, then readjust to tighten again?

I looked around and read something about a special tool. If this is true, can I do it without that?

I know man. I will as soon as I bounce back financially after buying all the parts. Hey I am contributing to this site by posting and asking these questions and getting the answers to add more info to the site to help more people.

ok.... so i just have to ask... we bought a 09 cx7. we were lookin at an 09 and 07 but noticed that they both made a clicking/ticking noise. we had looked at the 07 first and were kinda worried about it, then looked at the 09 and asked about it. dealership said its completely normal. that its just a noise/sound these engines make. when the car was getting inspected at a mazda dealer they said the same thing. since then, we have had the car in to a completely diff mazda dealer for 30k service, and gobs of engine codes (replaced the MAF and MAP sensors, all under warranty thank god) and nothing has ever been said about the noise.

so is some ticking just normal for these??

also, our AC sucks!! the guy at the dealer said that this is typical for mazdas as "it was one of the last things they designed" when designing the cx7's. but i mean, my VW passat will freeze you out on fan speed 2 and the cx7 doesnt compare by any means. this also normal?? you just never know when the dealer is lying or being honest... lying cuz they dont want to perform warranty work or when they are trying to make money!!

Some ticking at idle, normal. Rattle at startup, VVT actuator it's serious. Also, ac is known to suck, 07's have a tsb. Later ones, check for the control unit to not be ordering up more colder air, but my guess is it needs a recharge. Push the issue, ask for regional manager to meet, and press for it to be colder. Other cars on the lot new/used are great for a "wtf, explain this!" situation. Sounds like a shitty dealer. Call corporate too.
