Default Precision Turbo's at EdgeAutosport!



You guys have seen the Precision Turbo kits, but thats not all we carry. If it is made by precision, we can get it for you.

I just got an email from David at Kozmic motorsports. He says they are just weeks away from releasing the Mazdaspeed 6 V-band down pipe and dump tube! I was just wondering if you guys will throw a Precision turbo kit together like you did for the Speed3's? If so I will definitely be a buyer!

Not exactly two weeks. This is what the email says "the downpipes are a few weeks out from the design being completed before a run is produced for sale."

Had to edit my first post, for some reason I had 2 weeks in my head. My bad.

Available with either a Hydrodynamic 360° thrust bearing system, or an Air-cooled, dual ceramic ball-bearing center housing rotating assembly (CHRA)

No, that is the journal bearing. Copied from another site - The journal bearing system is the most common type of turbo bearing system because it is cheap and it works. The journal bearing system typically consists of two types of plain bearings: cylindrical bearings to contain radial loads and a flat thrust bearing to manage thrust loads. Plain bearings in turbos use oil to keep parts from rubbing each other based on the hydrodynamic principle. In hydrodynamic lubrication, the fluid (oil in a turbo) stays between the moving surfaces and prevents metal-to-metal contact.

To my knowledge PTE turbo's are not water cooled. I'm sure someone will correct me if I am wrong on this.

No, I think you got it right. Every water cooled PTE I've seen has been a conversion kit.

There will definitely be an MS6 Kit put together as soon as Kozmic releases the parts necessary to complete it.

No, PTE turbos are oil cooled only.

You would be correct. The difference between them is just the size of oil feed line used. Ball bearing use a -3 feed line and the chra already has the built in restricter where as the journal beating use an unrestricted -4 feed line.
