With just 93 and stock compression ratio, you will be knock limited at about 330hp

So this might be a silly question, but I am really impressed with the S3 and want to adjust my parts list accordingly.

Which the more necessary evil if installing an S3? Aftermarket manifold, or Meth?

Again, I am pretty sure someone on planet earth has already answered this question, but right now all of these dyno graphs just have me so excited my logic is out of the windown

I would go with meth if you had to choose. You can gain an easy 20-30hp with meth, even more if you really wanted to push it. The manifold will mostly help spool quicker and give midrange power, but the BNR already spools very fast and you can add as much midrange power as you want with boost or timing!

That and yeah ignition timing can be ramped up nicely. I really like the turnout guys keep it up!!!

Alright so meth over manifold, and since this turbo is more efficient than the K04, is a FMIC simply overkill?

A fmic Is not overkill at all, but an aftermarket tmic would certainly suffice with meth. That's what atvfreek is running. Tmic + meth =win.

Yeah I mean you can and always want to obtain cooler air with running a turdblow, but from a price standpoint it seems that the TMIC would be the better choice over the FMIC. I have been looking at freeks mods list and I like his setup a lot. I just want to achieve the enough power to rocket a pu into the 11's, but have fun with it day to day. I think the S3 would make that happen

If you're stuck with regular fuel - especially 91, an FMIC is worth it. It just doesn't get heatsoaked like the TMIC does when moving slowly and resists heatsoak during extended pulls much better. I know the gen2 guys are more limited in terms of FMIC choices however.

After having stock, TMIC, FMIC, I would have saved for a used FMIC instead of going through the aftermarket TMIC.

Good input lex. I never really knew much about TMIC until this platform. I have only had FMIC experience. I am building a parts/price list as I speak, of course none of the prices take into account me going VIP and getting second hand parts for the cheap. I was impressed with the CS TMIC because you can put the MS3 cover back on so it looks stock. All about being sneeky lol

Maybe a silly question, but is an E85 tune more limiting than the race gas tune used here? I ask because I plan on going BNR S3 w/ E85, and this power curve looks fantastic.

It is more limiting because you will run out of fuel faster but Oxygenated 110 unleaded fuel is very very expensive however.

His tune is comparable to what you can do on a 3gallon e85 mix. I tuned ckMS3 on a 3 gallon mix and he made about the same power with a similar tune, only thing different was I kept ckms3 on a 22psi tune due to stock map sensor. He still made 367hp/350tq on a dynojet.

Are you talking about the point where the coupler on the tip connects to? It is slightly wider than a regular K04. I believe I measured the diameter to be 2.310"

Listen my adobo cooking friend. You will move to NJ. I shall take you under my wing. You will void that warranty. You will sushi roll and ffs up and down the GSP with us. You will end up on YouTube and in the street racing videos. And last, but not least, you will allow us access to employee pricing on all parts thru your dealership.

Are you sure you still want to come to NJ? We go hard here.....be warned.

I too once was a naive ayshun with a stock pu. Then I met these fuckers. My wife hates me now Tuesday nights. My neighbors hate my car for the uber cool cold start. My garage is a fucking mess. My warranty went out the window. My life has not been the same since April. I should have bought a Mazda2.

its definately wider. The stock tip doesnt fit. But most of us who go BNR S3 already have TIP with silicone coupler. My Corksport fits, its tight but it fits! Also you get less space to the battery tray because the BNR S3 is pushing the TIP more out. I had to push my tip into the coupler till it touches the compressor housing and even yet its not perfect :-(

I think I bought a 2" to 2.25" coupler because the stock CS one was too tight. I also had to get a bigger worm clamp. I also slotted out the battery box mounting holes due to the extra length of the Beaner.

Done the same to my battery box. I'm not very happy with the TIP fitting. It looks like i have to make it shorter on the turbo side. Maybe i will get a HTP battery tray to get more room

CS TIP gets pushed out in direction of the battery box. It rubs like a mofo!! But slotting out the battery box holes helped a lot.
