Default Genpu Precision BT Build

A spin off of my "look at the stuff I bought" thread

The time is approaching, quickly.

With just a few odds and ends I should be ready to go for BT build time in a few weeks. I went the road less traveled and am going to be going with an EWG building using a Precision 5858 CEA. It was about $500 cheaper, a no brainer.

Here's some pictures of the goodies for now. I'm too lazy to unwrap everything but you get the idea. mason is mailing my 3" v-band DP so that just leaves a few small items to pick up between now and then. Here is the parts list off the top of my head:

2011 VMR Speed3
Precision CEA 5858 BB turbo
Steedspeed T3 V-band EWG Exhaust manifold
Corksport CBE
JBR 3.5" Wide Path Intake
JBR PMM and TMM (RMM already installed)
Cobb AP
Autotech Internals

SSP Oil Feed / Drain Lines
Synapse Engineering Synchronic BOV w/Anti-stall kit
Tial 44mm EWG
Dumptube VTA
Perrin MBC / Cobb EBCS (honestly its up to atvfreek on this one)
Corksport Boost Tubes
NGK Plugs (step colder)

There's probably some other small shit I'm missing too. Going to do the internals and the AP next weekend to make sure fueling is not a problem before we tear everything down. Given my busy schedule, tear down will be Sept 28-29, with the 30th being the "oh fuck we really messed this up" day if necessary. It's my DD, gotta get to work on Monday

Goals? Nothing mind boggling. Not planning on building the engine for a little while, if at all, so 400whp and 380wtq is where I'd like to land. DD'ing it 95% of the time with the occasional drag run. There's some other things that will come on an as needed basis like the clutch and some suspension mods (KSport coilovers and strut bars).

Here's what we have so far.

P.S. I'll have a few mechanic friends helping out but if anyone local wants to stop by I can give you the address when we get closed to D-Day, there will be lots of beer

I'm going to run an E85 mix but no meth. 90% of my driving is on the highway and it's early enough in the AM / late enough in the PM that I don't sit in traffic. On weekends I don't have to worry about traffic too much either since I'm usually on the bike

And then in the winter, well, it's winter.

Meth is not something I want to have to remember to buy and remember to fill. Honestly, I won't remember. And that could be bad.

If it turns out I'm completely wrong and can't pull it off then next spring when it starts to warm up again I will go the meth route.

what tubine housing are you using on that 5858?
been really interested in the precision turbos recently, cost seemed amazing like you mentioned. good luck with the build

Steed isn't making mani's anymore I've heard, but honestly there are less expensive options that will allow you to fit larger compressor housings (I'm stuck with the 3" inlet)

.63 a/r. Realgib3 almost had me sold on the .84 but I want to try this one first. I'm hoping my lack of a PnP intake mani and stock head will keep super fast spool at bay. But if I'm blowing through NeoGen's every 8 months I'll swap it out for the bigger exhaust housing.

Also...speaking of parts... mason came through with this masterpiece of a DP. It's mocked up after a stock location turbo, which is what my manifold is, but I expect it to be a little off. Hope it doesn't require too much modification though
