Im thinking the gauge is off. lol at whoever thought poo's come with lower compression pistons.

I think Jon just ended up with a faulty gauge. None the less it's reading consistently.

so in John's case he had 150 and 135 which is 15lbs difference which equals a 10% difference. Its low enough where I would dial back on the power.

Either way get another gauge on there, my guess is you will still be off 10% though.

Horsepower is a hell of a drug. Def agree that it would be worth dialing back a little.

I haven't compression tested John to answer you, but wouldn't mind if the gear is still around and not in use Saturday.

I'd like to check mine saturday also.

I also want to check my compression using my friends tester then check it again after valve cleaning.

also did you do the test when the engine was hot?

and yeah I meant 10% with all the other numbers. I wouldn't worry about the actual numbers, some gauges are different than others.

the cylinder with low compression, you could get a cap of motor oil and dump it into the cylinder, then try your test again. If it comes up, tells you it's rings.

a better test for us would be a full leak down, make sure valves seal good/rings are good, no HG leaks.

Well it's story time gents.

So yesterday I got the 12 psi spring for the tial. Installed that so I took it off the ga. So the tial was t off with the boost gauge. Went for a drive, lsggy as fuck, getting surge. I was like oh yes direct source. Come home put the tial straight off the manifold. So no more boost gauge. Go for a drive, tial is perfect. Cool. Park the car for the day. Leave this morning to go to pa. Went for a pull car acted funny. I was like that's odd. Talking to kritz over the radio and was like sounds like spark blow out. Go for another part throttle pass. Bucks like a mule and lets go.

And here I am. Hungry. With a hole in the block. Looks like number three went. Couldn't get a pick cause you can barely see it in person. So she sits at unicorn palace awaiting whatever I decide and can do with it.

i feel for you bro.. I'm yanking my motor next weekend i hope... I'll let you know what i find in the tear down.

My Boost lines were all in tact post incident.

Here is the log when i blew.



The only knock was the rod letting go.

Damn, your boost was conservative too. What type of fuel were you using, timing is a little high down low but nothing crazy.
