I'm new around here but thanks for posting this thread @Enki;
Just read all 68 pages(the testy exchanges were very entertaining, you don't get too much of that on the ST Forums)
You have a nice build going. I'm doing the same build on my ST and this gives me a little insight into what I'm up against next week.

I'm going with a Forge Actuator red spring I think, but you have me thinking about sticking with the MB canister that comes with the turbo to start even though BW recommends the high boost canister.

ATM I'm running a D05 nozzle 50/50 for cooling only on the k03. Plan to run a Stratified failsafe for boost cut once I run out of fueling on the 6758.

Just curious about the 7163 if you are running out of fueling now, how would you fuel the the bigger turbo if you went that route? Meth or 5th port(we don't have this yet) ?

I'd actually only run the 7163 to hold the boost out further up the rev band, and potentially faster spool. The increase in map efficiency would also lend quite nicely to slower heatsoaking of the TMIC, thus making WMI more effective post-intercooler.

Keep in mind that the bigger turbo you run, the less boost you need to flow the same air (relatively speaking; this isn't entirely accurate due to the number of variables in play, but you get the idea).

Thanks for the response. From what I understand of the 7163 should have similar spool to the 6758 which is crazy.

Yeah 7163 < hairdryer..
6758 > hairdryer..

At least for the ST, the 7163 may be my go to once Kosmic releases a 5th port and I'll be able to run E30 on the bigger turbo.

Filling the meth tank has been annoying, I've ran it out of the washer tank for the past year with the pump almost maxed out on the D06. 1 Cruz night and 2 fill-ups sucks. Just don't want to give up my hatch room to a bigger tank.

Anyway subbed..
You guys got some cool shit goin on here

The 6758 running 23 psi @ 6500 RPM sees about the same rise in boost temps as a K04 @ 16 PSI @ 6k RPM.

As for giving up hatch room, you don't have to. You saw my sleeper meth setup, yes?

Yeah, definitely sleeper. Very clean.
Where'd you obtain that nice tank?

Pic of my pump mounted on the frame under the airbox. Cut a hole in the airbox so I can make quick adjustments at the track. Just need a flowmeter failsafe and a tank like u have and GTG..

Custom cold side with bung welded in:

This is the tank in question:

Water Alcohol Methanol Ethanol Injection Systems

Though mine was a bit less because I had them ship it with the hose setup rather than a fill cap setup like pictured.

Not at all familiar with the location of the throttle body etc on the st but I would think it wouldn't be that hard to adapt a MS3 5th port kit to work on the focus

The throttle body is vertical and centered on the manifold. The MS3 5th port from Kosmic should work with a little fanagling from a hard parts perspective. The problem is the ST is MAP based, no MAF. The only way to command the correct fuel would be off a boost reference. This is also how the meth system works.
I may end up building my own system if they don't do something soon. We are out of fuel like you guys were which is partly why I'm here.
If someone knows where I could get a 5th port boost reference controller would be very helpful..

Probably easier just to integrate a denso type maf sensor into the system with a treadstone like adapter. I'll take maf tuning over speed density any day of the week.

I was actually thinking about this for the first time today. It would be a funky hybrid system. May end up being my best DIY option.

The AIC can be done speed density based as well. It's just a simple RPM vs Voltage table. With a MAF based voltage source you can mostly ignore the rpm axis and just set pulsewidth by voltage, scaling linearly along the rpm axis. If you were using a map based voltage source you will have to be a little more careful since it would be speed density, but the same controller would work and it would save you the trouble of integrating another sensor.

Bats are looking great, but I should probably up the nozzle size by a touch. I forget what I'm running now but it's probably a 7.

Power/torque is low as I'm only running 15 degrees timing @ 6k and 18 @ 6500. Map does have VVT and peak boost is ~21 PSI up top.

I still need to swap out my primary O2 sensor (this weekend) and ditch the secondary.

Swapped to the 8 GPH nozzle, and I'm liking it a bit better. Feels good, though now I'm down on power, probably due to timing, which will be added after I fix the o2 sensor(s) on Saturday.

Also, I finished the stealth install; pictures are below.

Nice, I just swapped in a D09 today. It's unbelievable how much spray comes out. I was surprised when I tested it. Unfortunately it didn't seem to help my fueling issues up top though still working on it.

Upped timing to 18 @ 6k and 20 @ 6500. There's room for at least 2 degrees more at both RPMs.

60-100 is 5.038 seconds with 100 degree ambient.
40-130 is 13.42 seconds granny (full lift) shifting.

It doesn't seem to make that much of a difference. Right now I think not having good crankcase evac is hurting me a bit power wise, as are dirty valves.

Gotcha. Well I have an almost as simple and definitely effective setup, proven at very high boost levels that you could give a shot. Just the stand catch can kit from CC to IM, then two hoses from VC to undertray.

I'll be switching shortly to one large, vented can, just so I'm a little better on environment, but otherwise that setup has worked great for me.

I'm actually contemplating a completely sealed catch can setup that would provide for full vacuum at idle and under boost, but it won't allow fresh air through the crankcase so not sure it's a good idea.

Hit the track today...

Lots of fail.

Some backstory:
Last time I ran at the track, I ran a mid 14 something at 104 ish MPH. Fourth and final run that day got me to 13.8 @ 108. This was on about a 320 whp tune with a 20-25% detune in first and second.

Tonight, I ran a 340 WHP tune, with WMI, and no detune in 1-2. This tune hits 4.25 volts on a custom 3.5" intake.

First pass: Tons of wheelhop. 14.6 @ 104. Bit of a bummer.

I go home real quick to get the laptop to detune first and second, flash a map while I'm there and get back in time for the second run (there was a shutdown due to a dude going through the nets after the sandbox which provided an hour of downtime).

Get up about 5-6 cars from the second run, and see car is running at 11.x AFR at idle with -25% STFT. Fuck. Run aborted. Get back to the pits, check everything and find that the car stumbled when I touched the MAF connector. It wasn't loose or anything, but apparently had a shitty connection. A bit worrisome, but not that big of a deal.

Third run.
Wheel hop from hell, shifting failures (couldn't find second or third). 15.x @ 100.

Multiple ABS codes now, with a TPMS code.

Need to do some diagnostics tomorrow.

Violent wheel hop triggers abs, tpms, stability, etc to come on.

You might have a broken wire to the MAF connector.

Failure 1:

Failure 2 (20% detune 1 and 2):

EDIT:
In a spot of good news, my street test runs of fourth gear showed 4.25 peak volts @ 20 PSI in 100 degree ambient temps with >3,000 foot elevation. Intake is a custom 3.5" with Treadstone housing.

Also, my pops (who was running tech) said that quite a few people were rather unhappy with their 60' times, so track prep might have been an issue.

What tires are you running? Airing down the fronts to ~30psi might help with the hop, the Conti DW's I have definitely respond well to that. Once you start hopping it seems next to impossible to get in a clean pass with these cars.

Ringlands might be done, not 100% sure. Warm start, and lots of pulsing air/exhaust out the VC breather (crank case and valve cover both go to T connection, then vent to air). Should probably do a hot compression test to be sure.

I'm under the impression that any volume of gas reliably exiting via the valve cover is no bueno, confirm/deny?

Yes, and sleeper status will be no more. Full on unique destroked build. Gonna go buy a compression/leakdown tester tomorrow and see whats up. Hopefully, I won't have to build and that money can go towards the new house/Falcon racecar build.

Could it be a bad valve seal?

Unlikely, since the gasses are coming from the valve cover, and my entire crankcase evac setup is vent to air.

No gas/pressure out of the crankcase hose?

A noticeable amount of blowby at idle would def concern me too... at WOT it's going to happen. On my miater dyno video you can see smokey/oily mist out of mine when you go WOT.

+1 on comp test or leakdown... get some real data and go from there.
