Default 04 civic si -> genpu?

Going to look at genpu's today. I originally had an 07 autotragic mazda 3, which I traded for an 04 civic si. The civic si is fun, alot more fun than the mazda 3 but I do miss the mazda. Going to look at trading it in today, according to kbb I can get almost as much as I paid for my si as a trade in. If I don't trade in I will likely be turbo'd by next spring.

So

turbo 04 si vs gen pu?

They can all explode if you don't monitor, run a bad tune, don't upgrade the fuel pump, and just throw on bolt ons without tune.

In any case, the GenPu might look ugly to some but it's way of an upgrade from the mazda 3 and any honduhh.

MS3...nothing against the Honda but the MS3 is brand new and you have a warranty. The MS3 engine is pretty stout. As people have said, just make sure you are tuning right and you'll be fine.

I would have my Gen Pu already if I didnt have such bad luck with trying to buy one. Especially if you can get one now, you get the 0% APR for 60 if you qualify and no payments for 3 months.

the turbo civic would be for economic reasons. roughly 2gs and id be turboed with kpro and putting down over 250.

Well if it's savings you want, then turbo what you have. If it's speed you want vs what you have, you'll be at 280+ whp on the stock turbo in an ms3 with close to 2k in upgrades.

Roughly 2gs and youd be around 350hp in the ms3. Civic's suck balls. Don't buy one unless you suck balls.

I miss my ephatch but I would go with a supercharger on that car instead. I'm assuming you're getting a greddy kit? Not worth it IMO

I'm having a lot more fun in my genpu however. That generation of civic has way too many common issues. For example creaking steering rack, door lock actuators crapping out, blower motor resistors crapping out, o2 sensor crapping out, airbag light coming on, tranny is sensitive as shit in 2nd and 3rd (ms3 tranny doesn't even come close to the issues), clutch squeak from the CMC.

Those are just the problems I ran into with my super low mileage ephatch.

knock on wood havent had any of those issues except for the tranny. I thought I was a super shitty driver but I just changed the tranny fluid and I feel like a pro (im still shitty). It'd be the emusa kit with a tial wg and probably an hks bov, turbo would be redone too. All in all should cost just shy of 2g's.

Reason I even got the idea to get a new car was because my boy just got a new gti and he beat my ep3 by half a car length. I got the new car fever and I want to shit all over his vdubyo.

If you thought anyone here would recommend you keep this car


over ANY ms3, then I don't even know what your purpose was. If you go on 8th gen they'll tell you to keep your ricey civic and turbocharge it. So all in all it is your decision.

If you want something serious with a strong base to put mods on, go with the genpu. If you want to look like a high school kid on a budget fart can, stick with the civic. My opinion.

I turdblow'd my 06' rsx-s and it was a hell of a lot more than 2g's with kpro. If that's your wish, go ahead, but until you buy all the supporting mods, it'll end up costing more. In the end, I was worried about the K series transmission blowing up.

if it were me, and you had your finances in check and good credit, now would be the time to jump into a MS3. I love my genpu way more than I ever did my rsx, even after 15k in bullshit upgrades to it.

Alright, just to be friendly, carrying on about your proposed turbo build on the civic won't sway anyone's opinion here. Most of us know jack diddly about them, the only guy I know with one on this forum uses it as his daily beater. You've got your answer: on a mazdaspeed forum, we recommend you buy the mazdaspeed (surprise!). Don't come in here and ask, then tell us you'd rather keep the civic because of money. I might be off a few k and the hp might be a bit high but you know fully bolted is prolly about 2k.

rmm = $150ish

ap = $500ish
intake = $150ish
custom exhaust = $600-800ish
tip = who the fuck cares
custom fmic = $500ish
step colder plugs = $30ish
bpv = who the fuck cares
internals = $300ish

Those mods would not yield you anywhere near 350. A "bit" off is a bit of an exaggeration.

You can turbo that motor all day and it will never have torque... that car simply doesnt have any cahones. The transmission is shit, the interior is crap... damnit this car infuriates me!!!
