Default 1st Mazda

I picked up a 2011 speed 3 sport with tech and with 19k miles last week and I have to say I love this car. I put some mods on already heres what ive done so far.

"Sport"?

I thought there are only two trim levels to genpu?

For a genpu?! In Canada all you can get (for my 2010) at least is Tech or no tech.

never mind. I just looked into it on Mazda USA. Same trim, just tech/non tech.

Mods (in order of significance): Cobb AccessPort, Autotech CDFP upgrade (thanks Captain KR for your assisstance), Cobb SF SRI Intake, Ultimate Racing cat and resonator-less test pipe, Cobb Turbo Inlet Hose, Cobb Knob, Cobb 300g shifter weight

Tune: My own (based on the v210 and v231 Cobb OTS maps but ramped way up)

Street creds:
- Fastest known K04/93 MS3/driver with only an AP, CDFP upgrade, intake, and tune | 13.37@106.83mph on stock Dunlops (2.04 sec 60' time, full curb weight, 75*F ambient temp)
- Has gone an indicated 146mph on three occasions now.

Yes I will help you tune your K04/pump gas car; I have much less experience than the major players but I also charge you $0 and can turn you around quickly. 4 satisfied customers and counting...

not gonna go boom trust me internals and everything will be on the car soon. I am helping him put the car together, with the help of the search button and owning a few other turbo cars the car is gonna be good.

Not trying to be a prick but how many direct injected turbo cars have your tuned?

Tune: My own (based on the v210 and v231 Cobb OTS maps but ramped way up)

Street creds:
- Fastest known K04/93 MS3/driver with only an AP, CDFP upgrade, intake, and tune | 13.37@106.83mph on stock Dunlops (2.04 sec 60' time, full curb weight, 75*F ambient temp)
- Has gone an indicated 146mph on three occasions now.

never said i've tuned any... just worked on a LOT of turbo cars... and ive been reading various threads here to gain knowledge on this platform.

From my understanding the internals on a gen 2 might hold up with an intercooler and an intake. IIRC cobb said the fuel pump is higher quality, but the ECU logic causes the pump to shit the bed with alarming rapidity when pressure drops below 1600 psi.

I don't know how much extra flow you get from an aftermarket TMIC, IME even with an aftermarket intake the TMIC still flows enough to not be a restriction. I have been proven wrong before however, so take that with a grain of salt. It was certainly the case with my car.

Some people hold pressure just fine with an intake/TMIC. Hell, some gen 1 guys with freak pumps can hold pressure even with a downpipe.

I couldn't hold ~1600 psi in the winter with just an intake. But, every car is different. I'd get the AP to make sure everything is kosher first, but only if you don't plan on modding the car further. If you want to get a downpipe or something, definitely get the fuel pump internals.

thanks...he bought the car with a turbo inlet, intake and some shifter stuff (dont know the proper term) im gonna do the HPFP internals for him (from the vids i watched and the how to i read not too bad) im wondering if the previous owner did the internals already but i guess we will find out.

once we do that the next course of action is exhaust and tuning and thats probably it.
