Default 2010 or 2011 ms3 volunteer needed from Ohio area

I've been in contact with Pat from aeroforce in the hopes of getting all of the PIDS functional for the gen2 ms3 version of the Aeroforce interceptor.

He will need a 2010 or 2011 ms3 to come by his shop for some testing...

The interceptor is much like the scangauge, but in 52mm form. It simply plugs into your OBD2 connector.

As of now, the gauge does read DI fuel pressure, AFR etc. and some of the other pids we are all interested in monitoring, but KR, Boosted air temps, etc. have been changed by Mazda for the 2010-2011 model years.

Pat said that he would be offering a FREE INTERCEPTOR for your time BTW...

The shop address is:
Aeroforce Technology Inc.
34115 Mills Rd Unit 6W
North Ridgeville, Oh 44039

See the Aeroforce site here:

Thanks for setting this up Rob. It's certainly a great first step for Gen2 guys to get some real monitoring solutions.

I got one and use it to monitor Boost and AFR at the same time and have it set to light up it's two LED's if I get KR more then 2.0. Its a great product and would be a great asset to the genpu community.

@manelscout4life reminded me this gauge was available, and it really would be great.

It has the ability to display 2 parameters @ once, a warning light, and has the ability to scroll through multiple pids that are user set.

I am going to e-mail Pat, and give him a link to this thread...

Maybe he'll be able to chime in as to when and how long he thinks he'll need a car.

I already know about the gauge, the only reason I havnt bought one was because my AP does the same thing. However, I could really use two read outs instead of one and Id be happy to get a free gauge
Pm me if you need my cell number

Man... Eppopipe to the rescue. THANKS

The cool thing is it has a scan function also. (i.e 2 things are displayed @ once, and it can continuously scan through all of the parameters, or a user set combo)

I'll shoot him an e-mail tomorrow am, and will get back to you as soon as he responds.

I have one in the vent. It's mounted at a slight angle upwards and has glare. My windows are not tinted. If I tinted it, it would prob help. Where ever you mount it, make sure it's at a 90 degrees angle or pointed slightly down.

Red and Black isn't as bright. Although, with the black background and red numbers it is a lot better. Aero suggested I go with white/black but I already ordered it before they replied back to my email. I'm stuck with what I have. At night it's awesome. I haven't messed with it as much as I would like to, but it's set on what I want and I'll let it be for now (Coolant & A/F).

2 hour 39 min drive.. hmm.. Nothing to see in Ohio, I could have made it a "vacation trip" lol.

Thanks for setting this up for us!! I am considering getting one eventually and getting the vent pod. Don't know if this will fit though, or how i'll get the OBDII wire to the port from the vent pod.

Your welcome to make a "vacation trip" out to Ohio if you'd like to just kick it and grab a beer

As for mounting the gauge, getting the wiring to the obd port is very easy, depending on where you decide to mount it. I can help in the event anyone needs it.

I've had a good deal of the interior apart already.

I am actually very curious how long it would take them to make updates to reflect all PIDs for the Gen2 once they get a volunteer in. I still have my boost gauge and wideband set a side and haven't installed them yet.

This might actually make me hold off until I hear more since I really do like the versatility of the aeroforce gauges.

I'm not sure as to the time frame, but having 2 pids displayed on each of 2 gauges both 52mm is / would be so sweet.

Did you notice that they sell a kit that connects 2 gauges together?

When Pat replies, I'll ask him if he is willing to do a group buy.

Yeah I saw that on their site, looks very cool and it's functional to boot. I already ordered my dual vent pod fom blockhead but have to wait a couple of more weeks--hopefully we will have a good idea by then what the time frame is.

Thanks again Eppopipe.

This would open a pretty big door for monitoring the 2010 and 2011's.

I may have to buy a second one if i can chain em together

Now I just gotta figure out how to easily unplug the gauge when I want to put the AP back in ( I pulled the OBDII port behind the dash)

Can't you just run an obd2 splitter?

Yeah and no, If I were to just run a splitter I could both in. However, both devices wont work at the same time. Therefore I would need to still unplug the gauge before I can plug in the AP.
A dremel job may be in my future

yeah I knew that you could not run both at the same time by using a splitter but I was not aware that there are ways to make them both run.

That's sort of the purpose in getting the scan gauges for me. I won't have to rely so much on the AP unless I was doing datalogging. So a splitter would be idea because I would just unplug the gauges for a couple of minutes and run the AP.

I think If I can just make my OBDII port pushed back in a couple inches in would give me room to just unplug the gauges and plug in the AP. Now all I gotta do is dremel out a spot and make a spacer. Shouldn't be to hard.
Or...Maybe ill think something else up.

Now that I got myself a camera, Ill post up pics after everything is said and done

I just did this...

If you pull down the left most panel, after removing the fuse cover, there is enough room to squeeze 2 wires alongside the obdII plug itself.

You don't have to cut if you don't want to.

I'll edit this in a second with pics...

The last thing I need is thanks to @dougefresh_ ... an obdII splitter seen here:
