just take out your stock 2nd cat, gut that shit with a hammer and chisel, and have a muffler shop remove ur resonator, i had a homie do it for 20 bucks, and have a nice sounding exhaust. its a similar note to stock but definitely a bit louder and is perfect for someone looking for a more lively exhaust for cheap

Just had my resonator removed. Only other modification is an intake performance wise.

My opinion when I first heard the car was "That did absolutely nothing". I then drove for 3 hours to my destination. When I arrived I noticed a big difference for some reason. The car is much louder than stock on start up and has a nice audible gurgle at low speeds in first or second gear. I do recommend this modification if your looking for more sound. I plan on adding a test pipe and CS axle back to finish it off.

I just took off my stock muffler to see how it would sound that way and I must say a lot nicer tone. You can here the turbo better now. The rest of the exhaust is stock. I plan to take it somewhere to have them make a single exit pipe no muffler.

There is no point in doing a resonator delete unless you are getting at least a test pipe. There are multiple threads about this on the site.

Sorry for the random bump...but does the UR 3" test pipe bolt up to to the stock exhaust? Thats all i need to know so i can buy it. Or im assuming all test pipes are the same so which is the better deal. I did the res delete cause i thought it would make a difference but it didnt of course. I think the test pipe will cure my exhaust needs for a while till maybe the UR muffler later.

Just get an Ebay tp its 90$ shipped and save some money its a fucking pipe who cares about the brand use what you save on a good dp, or get an Ebay dp which comes with dp and tp for 150$ shipped fucking gorgeous piece too.

Gen2, yes for sure...Gen 1 I'd say yes also but others have done it without....But for you sir, yes you need the HPFP with downpipe to be safe.

I still dont see the link between the two but im not gonna risk it. But to answer my question i can use the UR 3" Test pipe on a stock exhaust right? I dont want to custom hack my cat out and what not. And that seems to be the cheapeast provided they dont rape you on shipping.

I used the UR testpipe with stock exhaust and stock CDFP, targting 17.25 psi of boost very successfully.

The link between fuel pump and downpipe is the increased flow, which will cause boost to increase...sure you could dial back the boost but then you negate the need for the downpipe. Also, as boost and power increases, your load will increase putting more strain on the fuel pump.

Even with the testpipe you should have a way to monitor your fuel pressure to assure that you are not dipping low.

Yea i got an ultragauge to monitor that stuff...So with the test pipe my boost will go up naturally? Or your using your AP to hike it up? Sadly for 2012 the AP isnt out yet so ill be stuck at stock if not the case for a while. and i know your talking about the stock FP but what does the CD stand for?

You won't get more boost on the stock tune. Just faster.
Higher flow rate means higher fuel demands.
Just do some research man. No one is tryin to steer you wrong here.

Boost will not just increase with the testpipe...with a downpipe and no tune it has the potential to spike higher...but its not a linear increase...anyway, when I was hitting 17.25, I was targeting it and it was very stable.

You should be good at blowing your motor at wot without internals. Yes.
Internals are not boost dependent. Your boost isn't going to go up, but your flow of air in and out of the motor will. More air means more fuel.
Why does everyone have such a hard time believing they need this mod?

one last question. Is the stock map gonna know to increase FP? Or just the simple mechanics of the the DP and TP gonna make the car ask for more FP. Sorry was reading some guy and saw lot of stuff with AP tunes running higher FP so wanted to make sure.

No and No. What will happen is that your pump will hold pressure better and not drop to the danger level. When you move to stage 2 you they have commanded increased fuel pressure. For now, with the testpipe, you do not need to modify the pressure...but you do need the fuel pump.
