2011 MS3 security? I was just curious; how secure is an MS3? By that I mean; are they easy to steal, or break into? The reason I ask is; if they get stolen very often, I may Lojack it. |
I can break into your car with a rock |
no need to lojack, the grin turns people away enough as it is |
I'm considering putting LoJack, although no system is 100% effective. GPS Systems are easily jammed, and have no alternative power source. Alarm systems (2way - Viper) tell you when your car is broken into but if it's gone it's worthless. LoJack's frequency apparently can be jammed too, but it's not as easy as the GPS one. And if you get LoJack you might as well get the early warning system which sends you a text/call after the car being driven without the key. LoJack is not 100% effective because it relies on the police units tracking your car like sonar device. Their website says they recover 90% of the vehicles. You're looking at $1000 for the total system ($700 without early warning), and you cannot interchange between cars. I've been doing some research as my previous car was stolen in March. There are cheaper alternatives like kill switches, but I want something that actually tracks my car. |
i'd imagine its on par with most other new cars. i.e. it works but if someone wants to cut your horn and break in and take stuff, they will EDIT: Doesn't COBB have some sort of ECU theft protection from their accessports? |
It's just a car. Insure it and your shit inside it, and there is no need to worry about someone stealing it. |
move out of the ghetto |
My car was stolen from Boca Raton, FL. Not exactly your ghetto community. |

There's low demand for these cars and its parts. You will be fine. |
Worst case keep a good load of shit in the car seat during the night. this will discourage any bad guys. He/They'll have to get ride of your nice packet before doing anything to your car and and with the smell you'll left inside the car, I guess the next time He/They will just remember your care for sure :biglaugh: Cheapest solution and requires no alarm system :biglaugh: It' |

I would think any of the newer cars would be extremely hard for the average thief to steal. |

That car, is golden in the ricer community, and by all means, we have a huge rice community in south florida. There intent, k20a2-k20z1 seats, and cluster. And prolly more. Sorry but the speed was a come up, dont be upset. To the point, no security needed. the 2010's dont look the most attractive. Plus, nobody swaps these's motor into other cars. And ppl wont want your interior. lol Your ok. Im positive it was those ricer teams. You had a RSX point blank. |
1. Acura = Honda = One of the most commonly/easiest stolen vehicles out there. 2. Accessport has an ECU Anti-theft mode. Only $595 for instant Powah! and safety. Or you could pull the fuel pump relay. 3. Don't waste your time with Lo-Jac. The receivers that go in the police units suck balls. It shows the code for which vehicle was stolen, the direction that the signal is coming from and an approximate signal strength. If the stolen car is moving, then it's really difficult to track and locate. Ask me how I know. I've been a po-po since the MS3 came into the market and have never seen one been stolen. And I work in a really shitty area where cars get stolen daily. I've seen new chargers and magnums get stolen but never a smiling Genpoo. |
No one steals mazdas silly |

But I agree with the statements above, Mazda's are not the most stolen cars, especially MS3's. |
That's all I needed to know...and then some. Thanks! |
yea dude my brother is a Miami-Dade cop thats in the automotive theft... he says as long as you dont own a ricer honda or anything dodge that can house big rims your fine, considering miami is worst than broward |

I must see you around here all the time, I have a '10 red ms3 and I see more of these cars in the area every week. LOL at dodges that can house big wheels, I know those wouldn't be hard to get rid of down in south florida. I've never really worried about getting a car security system for this car, I have a $500 deductible and I would imagine it would be difficult to steal and even more difficult to get rid of. |

Yea it was taken from my driveway. I'm actually by Boca Del Mar, closer to 18&Powerline. Thing that sucked was that I paid the car cash and didn't put Comprehensive Insurance, had everything else covered. Learned my $8000 lesson there...but it's all material things so I don't let it get to me. We should do a MS3 meet one day. I have a friend who lives in Deerfield that has an MS3 too. |
I'm down for a meet im in Sunrise |

We could possibly do a meet at tower shops on a Friday night?? Unless anybody else has a better area, I just moved to sunrise so I don't really know the broward area well |

Is the push button start / tech package car any harder to steal then the conventional key style or is it about the same? |

all K series have a chain, no belts anymore. and that was one of many reasons I unloaded my RSX. Theft, insurance, transmission was glass in those when you start making big power. The potential for the K20s as far as power goes was certainly there, the transmission, not so much. Anyhow, I know what you mean but I'm a lot less worried about someone stealing that car than the RSX. Hell even my insurance went down 400$/year from a 06' RSX-S to a 11' MS3 with the same coverages and deductibles. |
