Thought I would add some inside as a new owner as of yesterday. I bought a 2012 Mazdaspeed3 with the Tech package for $1075 below invoice. |

$1075 below "invoice" is a worthless figure. What is "invoice"? 27k? 25k? 18k? |

just noticed that the sirius satellite radio is an option on the 2012? was it an option on the 2011s as well? mine came with it and i did not pay for it |

A dealer-installed option without tech pkg, for 2011 and 2012 |
ok tech package is a pretty good deal overall worth the extra 1800 i paid for it, nav sucks dick in my area though and sound system could be better. those hids are so worth it gets those assholes driving 60 out of the passing lane hid high beams ftw  |
$25,800 w/ tech. Dealer threw in a couple oil changes, plate frames etc. Sales guy said whites are pretty scarce/sell fast, and there was a markup for that color. Anyone confirm? |
Hey All, I just picked up my '12 speed3 velocity red in the San Francisco bay area. I think i got an awesome deal. paid 24850 OTD with Tech Package. its a sweeeet ride |
All you guys giving prices lower then dealer invoice, I am assuming you had a trade in, that they just got from sale price and your trade in value to make up the difference. Otherwise I see it as a slight impossibility. especially otd... there should have been like 2-3k in TTL. Please clarify if this is not the case. |

Sometimes people will get lower than invoice but the dealer will still make money. They're not stupid, they run a business. If they sell it lower than invoice, its for a number of reasons. Maybe they're close to a goal set by the manufacturer after which they receive a bonus for volume sales, there may be manufacturer incentives/rebates during that time, all kinds of shit you dont know about. Its not as simple as MSRP-INVOICE= PROFIT. |
Just picked up my silver speed3 today. Its a '12 base. I did 23k w/ finance charges included. Note: It comes with the bose, the 2012 base. I looked at the sticker. checked the trunk, there's a subwoofer in the spare tire. |
i got mine for 26k but i would of gotten it for cheaper but i had upside down equity of 4k on my trade in. but the tech package is well worth it even tho the nav screen is small it works perfect and like it better than my garmin. so with negative equity it was 30k |
OP..you have a PM |
Got an answer from Mazda Customer Support today. First batch of the base 12s didnt come with Bose stereo. And since it wasn't listed on the sticker, Mazda said they aren't going to do anything about it for me. So I'm SOL :( |

2012 base for 22500, sticker was 24795. |

I beg to differ, I just bought my 2012 base for 21,600++ and they gave me 17,000 for a 2011 impreza 2.5I base with 10k miles on it, look up the impreza on nada or kbb (gotta use 2010 cause 11's values aren't up yet) I personally think that was a rediculiously good deal, I'll see if I can scan the contract or digi picture it if no one believes me, bought from Groove Mazda in Centennial,CO, honestly best dealership experience I've ever had as well ( the only things added to the deal was $600 bucks for windsheild treatment and theft protection and $450ish for GAP coverage so they didn't even make much money on me on the back end) |
For what it's worth, I just picked up a 2012 w/ Tech and paid 24,750 for it. Dealer gave me some rap about "R" designation on early production cars with better rebates. All I know is I was happy with the price I paid and I love the car! |
2012 tech. paid 23900 w no trade in. blind spot monitering is the shyt!! |
How did you guys get great prices like that? I went to th dealer and the lowest is $24600 + tax and fees for '12 + tech ... I thought better deal can be had than that |
Quote:
Anyone know what this is all about? |
Below "invoice" prices can be had because of backend factory to dealer incentives. "Invoice price" is basically BS anymore anyways. Back in '07 I picked up my WRX with a couple of dealer options for $22k no trade in and the dealer had to have it trucked down at their expense. They admitted(after talking for a while) there were backend incentives that made it worth their while. |

http://i75.photobucket.com/albums/i3...9/IMAG0263.jpg My sales guy told me that certain early production cars for the model year were given an "R" designation by Mazda, meaning they had additional rebates in place. He explained that they did it as a way to jump start sales for the model year. IDK:shrug: |
I bought my 2012 3 weeks ago..just looked at the window sticker i kept..no R on mine. |

It has to do with additional rebates from the factory, alot of manufacturers will do this when they see a dip in a sales trend or compete with certain other cars in various markets, that "R" designation will not be available across the entire US, chances are its only in select areas due to their sales demographics |
Yes...2012 "R" coded is earlier production related to parts shortage during tsunami and is cheaper because dealer got more incentive. The current 2012 production "non-R" is more expensive. I shop around the best I could get was $23k +TTL for the base. I could get the "R" model for $21.3k + TTL but it is out of state and is not the color I want. |
I got my 12 Cwp speed 3 with tech package for $24,000 with the S-plan and returning customer discount ( My Gf bought a Mazda 2) |
