My base 2012 came with Bose and it was listed on the sticker. I think the 2012s come standard with the Bose system. The sales guy even showed me the sub in the spare tire. It's not that great of a system anyway. Bose lacks bass and I like bass so...

It was the same with my RX-8, the Bose was all mids and highs. I preferred the pioneer system in my old Scion with the factory 100w sub...seven speakers 260w total but a hell of a lot more bump than the Bose systems. You should hear the sound system in the new Velosters, fantastic but the car is slow as hell.

Oh and I paid $23.3 + ttl.

The current 2012 production "non-R" is more expensive.
I shop around the best I could get was $23k +TTL for the base.
I could get the "R" model for $21.3k + TTL but it is out of state and is not the color I want.

Enough people have said it, but I'll agree with everyone... just got mine and the dealer gave me an additional $1000 off a car with an R due to rebates. I got it for $21,950 and it has the autodimming mirror with the homelink and compass, which the non-R car did not have. The early ones do not have Bose and that is probably because they ran out of parts during the tsunami and didn't want to stop production. Mercedes had issues getting stereos too at that time and were selling cars without stereos and having the owners come back for the dealer to install when available.

Smurfzilla 01-08-2012 01:11 PM

I have an "R" car w/ tech and mine has Bose.

I would say mine qualifies as early considering I took receipt 2nd week in September.

Yeah... if it has the R it is early... mine doesn't have the Tech package though. That does kind of blow my theory on why the radio differnce though. Unless they intentionally saved their inventory for tech cars and cheaped out on the others. I don't really care either way, I am plenty happy with the stereo in the car. I'm just happy I got and extra $1k off the price... it's a killer deal really.

We saw a non-tech car come through with a bose system

Non tech cars, unless early builds come with the Blose now.

Kiribati 01-09-2012 06:42 PM

First post, just thought I'd drop in and share my purchase.

2012 black base ms3 for an upward $25k OTD with extended warranty (6 yr/100k/$0). San Gabriel Valley, CA
Sticker price is $24,795, as others have previously mentioned.

It did come with the Bose system but I don't find anything "WOW" about it.

Croxley611 01-17-2012 02:26 PM

Wow we pay out the ass in Canada. I live in Nova Scotia, highest sales tax in Canada (15%)

Picking my 2012 ms3 cwp tech pack and after everything in I am paying $39000. Lol :(

Sent from my left nut.

Croxley611 01-17-2012 02:49 PM

Lol I would take you up on that offer but I'm on my way to the dealership to get it as I speak. Couldn't beat the interest rate .. 0.9%

Smurfzilla 01-17-2012 05:59 PM

0.9% interest on anal rape is still anal rape.

Grats on the new car though. Donate, post pics of car and nudes of your girlfriend, wife, mom etc.

I'd pay $13 not to have to drink Busch. Like one of the worst beers on the planet LOL.

Onelovesoccer 01-18-2012 09:58 AM

I'd drink Natty and Keystone Light over Busch any day. I'd probably drink Busch over the Beast though...

PBR is my go-to cheap ass beer.

Really? What color are the gauges and HVAC display? What about the interior panel above the glove box and around the DSC button is it silver or spotted red and black?

In Canada, Cars seem alot more expensive new, but prices seem to drop down to similar to US prices once used. As well, in Canada alot of cars come with more standard features versus same trim level in the US.

that isn't anal rape, that is just what cars cost up here. 0.9 is a decent rate for this car.
I paid 38k for my 2012 with tech pkg back in october. and the genpu mazdas actually dropped in price when they arrived back in 2010.

Weird, I'd almost say to go complain to Mazda USA as the Bose is clearly listed as a standard feature on the website and in the 2012 literature. Unless you got a really awesome deal on the car or something. Although, honesty the Bose isn't really all that great IMHO.

His car is an early car, that's why. The early ones did not come with Bose. Must have been stated in here 10 times.

Hey, guys. Saw a comparison of a 2010 instrument cluster and a 2012. Noticed that the coolant temperature "idiot light" was illuminated blue on the 2012 but not on the 2010.

Does the 2012 have a blue "idiot light" to let you know that the coolant is still cold?

Something I have always hoped they'd add, if it's true!!

Yes the light indicate the engine and coolant are still cold is blue on the 2012s.

SmoothVanilla 01-19-2012 09:25 PM

yes this is true. the subtle changes they made look alot nicer. The changes to the guages to the red is arguable I guess. But my gf has a 2011 and the all black and little things they changed make it flow better and looks less cheap. they did something right for once lol

dantes5823 01-20-2012 12:36 AM

One thing I noticed in the 2012's is the clutch and gearbox feel dif between base and tech pack. My buddy has a base model speed3 and his clutch is way stiffer than mine. His shifter feels dif as well. And my other friend has a 2010 tech pack and his gears are stupid easy to get into. You can literally toss it in gear by flicking your wrist.

That has nothing to do with no tech or tech.

My friends is not an "R" either, and he has no Bose. When you bought it doesn't matter, what is the build date on your door?

either way im still going to see if they can get me the system either way its worth a shot

greatdane68 01-20-2012 12:13 PM

The dealer that I'm dealing with told me that he'd sell me one without the Tech Package for $21,000 when I'm ready to buy (I don't want the Tech Package anyway). Doesn't get any better than that.

Coolant temp light seems a bit pointless to me, I'd rather see oil temp. But I guess that's why you get a damn AP instead of relying on the factory to do anything for you.

I have been doing a bit of comparison shopping recently. The best price on a 2012 is about $24500 with the tech package. Has anyone been able to get a better deal recently? I am hoping for a finance deal or slight drop in price when the 2013's hit...

If you want a good deal on a new MS3, go to dealership lots and look at the inspection stickers on the windshield. You can basically figure out from there how long they have been sitting on the lot. The longer they have been sitting on it, the more they are willing to cut a deal and cut their own losses of sitting inventory.

in RI (probably other states I dont know of) new cars dont need inspection stickers until they are 2 years old
If its used, it will have a sticker, but inspections here are every 2 years
just FYI, I moved here from MA and had mind blown when I found this out

Interesting. I had only assumed that most other states required a BOHICA annually.

When I bought my speed, I walked onto the only dealership lot within 75 miles that actually had a BM model, but they had no idea obviously. I took one look at the windshield and saw that they had been sitting on it for five months and I walked out at a bit over $22,000 with a brand new speed in under two hours start to finish of paperwork without even negotiating. The car had a total of 32 miles on it.
