The rear headrests are flattened and sit flush against the seats, but they are still adjustable for height. They are win-win because they don't block the rear view at all and they look cleaner/sportier.

I was pretty bummed when I got my 2011 and discovered the rear headrests were the old school style. Then I was advised that there were changes to 2011 NHTSA rear crash test standards/ratings. This makes a lot of sense since the rear head rests are now taller than before where they were countersunk.

Looks mater more to me. On my suns side I took out the headrest because of his booster seat.

I think my rear headrests have gotten used maybe twice since I bought the car two years ago. Usually if I have a rear passenger, it's my kids who use car seats (and, like stang, the headrests come out).

The interior pic Elusivellama posted shows three rear headrests. Who has a center one? I don't (not that I need one).

no middle headrest here. I DO use the one to help hold down my daughters carseat, but the other one always stays in the down position haha.

I didn't buy the car till January of this year. It was owned and used by a Chicago dealer. I bought it with 8,000 miles on it and don't worry it was CPO, so I am covered plus it was $5000 cheaper than sticker! There are 23,000 problem free miles on the car now.

No center headrest came in my car. Either way, both of mine are removed for the time being for my kids car/booster seats.

Ive got the 11 so i have the gen1 style headrest but since very few people ride in the back I have the headrests in the down/front position to make it easier to see out back. Basically i was throwing the bike in the hatch so often i had to constantly put the seats down, i just never put the headrest back in the upright position (unless someone sits back there).

Many companies charge more. Especially if they are metallics or pearls.

I am guessing the white is either more expensive or is more difficult for them to process.

^Agreed. I've never seen so many orgasms over a color, especially when it's white. As I said in another thread:

Just an observation after being here a couple years now... 1. Everyone hates the genpu smiley. 2. Everyone is getting wet over genpus in white. 3. The smiley is as pronounced as it possibly can be on a white genpu. Black genpu ftw.

That said, why should Mazda eat the cost, when the demand for white is obviously pretty significant? Supply and demand, that's how businesses are run. If you don't want to pay 200 bucks, get another color (or wheel and deal).

same here.. my audi has full leather seats and while its a more comfortable seat when its cold out.. anything over 80 degrees outside and my back is sweating like a mofo. i wish they would put some peltier effect elements in the seat as oposed to the heating coils that they currently have. I have a 2011 and when I was looking at this list of features in the 2012, a Canadiann list according to the post, and i have some of these. In addition i noticed I also have the vent closing dials that some people are saying they dont have. I assume mine is a late 11 build. I'll have to look at the build date tomorrow. Maybe i was misunderstanding the convo a couple times but I have the AFS and leveling. Then again thats the Canada list so I'm unsure how much of that was already in the US models. Just interesting...

Mazda could have just raised the price across the board to reflect the increase in cost for one color.

If you don't want to pay an extra $200 for the best looking color available, then get something else that you won't be happy with.

Just like when I buy clothes, if I don't want to pay extra for a Nike symbol on a sweatshirt, I just but the plain Russell one at Wal-Mart for less $$.

This is a free market.

If Mazda had raised the MS3's MSRP by $200, people would complain a little and buy the car anyway.

If Mazda makes CWP a $200 option, people would pick a different colour because of outrage/indignation.
