2012 SWAS Switch Questions

First of All, Yes I Searched.

So I went to wire in a switch today to actuate my swas on and off. I had found a reference to use the white wire in the 2012 pigtail (yes the wire colors are different than the 10s and 11s) so I used that one. However, even when i have the switch engaged, the steering wheel light will stay lit up (it does stay off for about 10 seconds on startup). Might I mention that if you twist the two wires together it works just fine.

Has anyone with a 2012, and possibly a 2013, used a different wire with any success? Id hate to have to cut every other wire in the pigtail to figure this out. I just left the plug out, but i hate the Christmas tree of a dash I have right now.

SWAS in the 2012's and 2013's seems to be eliminated by just holding the DSC button for 10 seconds. There is a thread some where on here where multiple people were testing different theories.

What was your vehicles date of manufacture? Seems that only the MY12s built in CY2012 work with the DSC holding trick. Sure as hell seems to turn it off on my car ('13). I'll have my AP this week to find out for certain.

I have a '13 and holding for 10 seconds helps a lot however I still see AFR dip to 9.8 while turning a little
