2013 MS 3 mod upgrade

ok guys, I had a 2012 that was my daily driver, non tech package, I guess it was my stepping stone to the one I really wanted, 2013 liquid silver tech package delivered with 0.7 miles :-) aaahhhh lol

So after 3 days of ownership of my new baby, Today I had installed the VFR MazdaSpeed3 Blitz for Cobb Air Intake Upgrade(VFR B4CAF1) , Mazda MazdaSpeed 3 Turbo Inlet Hose(COBB 771001BL/BK), and COBB rear motor mount

having traded a 2012 speed, I can tell you that the 2013 feels a lot quieter inside, the doors close with a quieter thud, and the Navi HU is awesome!
As far as the mods I put on, The intake sounds loud and mean, but the RMM... Yes there is a Vibration and yes when the A/C is on it does increase, but idk if its because I can feel everything or I was expecting a vibration, but as a test, when me and the wife went out, without the A/C she didn't feel it, I turned the A/C on and cranked the music so the bass could compensate and she didn't feel it :smirk:
At least when im on idle it doesn't vibrate like a lot of people said it does...
other than that, I cant even WOT anything yet because Im still at 120 miles, so I cant tell you about the wheel hop but the shifting does feel a bit smoother...
Next mod at 1500 miles is the full exhaust, bov and accessport, which I cant wait!
Let you guys know how those go, and the RRM should be broken in by then and hopefully less vibe... later!:slomo:

Donate and look into the Nator FL section, there's a big community of us here in south Florida. Good luck with the car!

Might want to consider the HPFP internals before going racecar.

JgamB 08-02-2013 07:48 AM

Congrats on the new car and the intelligent decision to upgrade your fuel pump internals before the intake and exhaust! Great job reading your welcome message instead of gracing us with incoherent babble about inane bullshit!

Please let me know how your vibrations work out. If they aren't sufficient I can probably pick you up one of those KY Twisters.

OP made no mention of HPFP...he said full exhaust and bov...b/c racecar

Wait....after rereading your post; I now sense the sarcasm.

You're quick this morning. I'll use sarcasm font next time :chairfall:

Dont waist your time going to velocity factor any more. They will just continue to rape your wallet and their work is shitty at best.

xxdjfate76xx 08-02-2013 08:08 AM

@Sid3wayS; I wasn't sure if that was what he meant.. Poor poor speed, that blitz intake is like throwing dirt through a screen door

lobitoPU 08-02-2013 08:43 AM

+2 on velicity factor.!! Stay away from them

so blitz filter is no good?

xxdjfate76xx 08-02-2013 10:42 AM

@iLLspeed3; yea it's horrible.. We had two local guys that swapped out, they took their intakes off and would find dirt inside the pipe. @adlpb; @dereeek; can chime in

adlpb 08-02-2013 11:02 AM

HAHA! Hey @dereeek; and @G26; looks like we have another Velocity Fucktor special intake!

It's a piece of shit. It does zero filtering, just makes more sound. It lets all the dust into your engine. Get rid of it and get an AMSOIL.

Also, never go back to that shop. I have countless stories of people (both MS3 and other platforms) getting fucked over in that shop, myself included. I went there when I first got my Speed3 because I had no tools. Big mistake. If you want me to tell you a cool story (bro) of other NATOR guys just ask.

We can help you install your parts, just have the right attitude and don't be a douchebag. Donate, go to the ADD thread, introduce yourself and come to our BBQ this month if you can.

dereeek 08-02-2013 11:17 AM

Mother of god. let me go through my photos to find what VFR did to my car.

I'd stop going to them ASAP. Felipe is just a business man who doesn't give a flying fuck about anyones property. the blitz filter sucks too. I took it off one day and my intake was filled with dust.

Stick with NATOR FL

Red PU is mine.

LMAo how did you guys know I took my car there though? because of the Blitz filter? lmao guess he pushes em hard huh, but to tell you the truth I was the one that wanted the Blitz, because I had heard that it did sound louder,I had the cobb SRI on my other one so just to try something different it chose the blitz, but never imagined it being so bad like you guys said or I wouldn't have done it... :dunno:

As Far as Felipe goes, he had also installed parts for me before about a year and a half ago, and to me he seems like a cool guy, maybe real recognizes real and he knows he cant bullshit me, unlike some other people im sure, but that's his job... no different than a car sales man or the guy selling you those can of pray wax when you stop for gas lol its a hustle... as far as workmanship goes, I never had a problem, have friends with GTi and Sti and they never had problems... maybe their knowledge stepped up too and their aren't fuckin up as much lol idk but I live on a complex so a garage or tools I don't have, leaving me with not many choices but to deal with the locals here... and I don't understand why you would think they would want to do a shitty job, wouldn't you think they want you to come back therefore doing a good job should be the number 1 priority... again wtf do I know lol im just a squirrel trying to catch a nut :approve: lmao

As far as my next mod I really want to do the exhaust, anyone that have done the corksport exhaust or the HKS Legamax Premium Exhaust ? does gas mileage drop by a lot?

and another thing, should I upgrade the BPV, or just leave the stock?
thanks guys!

Umm why can't you go WOT yet? I don't suggest doing 4th gear WOT logs from 40 to 110 mph yet but going from 3000 to 5000 rpms, engine braking, and changing gears will allow your engine to break in properly unlike the BS that Mazda tells you to do.

Most fucking shops are filled with idiots, especially the ones that work on Evos and Subies. You should learn to read the F ing stickes in your welcome email and learn to do as much of the modding yourself.

Oh lord

You really need to do actual research on your car and not go by what Felipe tells you. The HKS legamax is trash, even though Felipe will tell you otherwise and will try to sell it to you for the "great price" of $1200. Go with CS or Ultimate Racing. Installation isn't too bad, but you won't get any gains from it other than sound. If you want actual gains you need a downpipe, fuel pump internals and a tune with Cobb AP.

On the BPV, stock will hold up to ~17psi. If you're going past that you're leaking.

Last, get your own conclusion about Felipe. He will seem like a cool guy and make you think he's hooking you up. It's not until you actually look at the parts he's installed that you realize the shitty job he does. Example- he installed Derek's downpipe but left the wideband 02 bung hand tight. Example2- he sells an APR splitter for the speed3 on his site, marked at $399 as a "special" markdown from retail $499 price. Which is funny because if you go to APR's website their MSRP is $369. And then he charges you $100 for shipping, so at the end of the day you pay $500 for a $370 part. But he makes you think he's "hooking you up."

Sorry to "revive" this thread but thank you guys so much! I'm new to the speed 3 scene and was following Velocity on there build guide. I got suckered into the $100 Blitz filter I guess. But thank you for saving me. I will no longer use it and I'm going to check for dust!

I just found this thread I wish I lived a little lower in the state. My 2013 is stock except for the RMM. I think I would like to look into an intake but nothing more at the moment.

Thanks for this good thread.

Any members in-between Daytona Beach and Orlando?
