Sprung for the premium and am loving it so far. Got my tuner in today, CAI will be in next week. Once the tuner was installed it transformed into a beast. Power shifted into 2nd and left 30' of rubber behind me lol. Next mod is gonna have to be wider tires for sure!

Lovin it so far tho. Glad I got the upgrades and not the base model.

And yes I'll be around, I love this forum lol.

It doesnt pull from the fender. The stock air box is defiantly restricted. Big ol intake tube from the motor running to the air box and then a skinny little inlet that runs to the front grill. The CAI I ordered opens that inlet way up and sucks air through the front grill not the fender. Seen YouTube videos on this intake from customers with before and after dyno pulls showing 15 whp gains. Maybe the 13's are different from the previous models.

Congrats on the new car. Got any pics of it and what color you get. I personally would have grabbed a Camaro SS but Mustangs have a lot of potential. Check out Breenspeed for Mustang stuff as they make some killer 10 sec cars around my area but the tools all drive auto's cause they can't drive

I've worked on a few '13 GT's, there is little gain with a tune, none without a tune. Read up on the good tech Mustang boards if you don't believe me, IMO your $300 can be better spent. My buddies is running 11.80's with the stock air box...But hey, your car and your money. Enjoy the car.

I'm a die hard manual guy, but if I was buying a new GT I would buy the auto. Main reason, the MT82 is prone to problems (2 out of the 3 MT82 owners I know have had issues), it is only rated at 380 lb ft (less then the car makes) and it is made in a low end factory in China. Some have no issues, but many do. Also, the auto on the new 5.0's has a higher 1st gear, and is in most cases quicker then the manual. So it has nothing to do with them not being able to drive. Plus, if they are hard core drag racers a auto with a big stall is king on the strip.

You kinda missed my point though. A manual with the same mods as an auto with a converter will be slower at the strip no matter who was driving it. Yes, a manual is more fun and quicker on a road course, but the same can not be said for the dragstrip. I am assuming you never have launched a car with a big converter, as it is it's own rush. This coming from someone who owns two manuals now.

Even though I own a modded to hell Camaro SS, it is a 4th gen. If I was in the market for a new one I too would by a Mustang. Except for the ZL1, the new Camaro just falls far short when compared to the new Mustang. The GT out handles the SS, is lighter, has a better interior and is much more livable.

i just put in an order for a GT yesterday and hope to see it in 4-6 weeks. Just like you, I'll be sad to see the speed go. It is and has been a great car.

I love the new 5.0's but with the increased popularity they will be everywhere soon. I would still own one at that price point though.
