2013 Speed3

Hey everybody. I have been looking to buy MS3 but I had one question. Are they redesigning MS3 in 2013 or is it staying the same? I looked everywhere and couldn't find any info on it.

If we even get a 2013 Speed3. But you wont know this soon i would say. shit we found out the 12's were coming out just a little bit before hand.

apparently they were thinking about doing an AWD 300 hp model at one point but decided to back out since the speed3 pretty much owns the pocket rocket category. its too early to tell, but my guess would be that they will be just as awesome as the ones out now. maybe they will crank some more horses out without losing any of this lovely torque.

With the 2012 Skyactive 3's coming out in the same body style, but being almost a completely new model, I can't imagine they would redesign already. But stranger things have happened, genwon was only around for 3 years before a redesign.

Usually they keep design for 3 years, so I was hoping they would do something new. Definitely more HP, since Hyundai is cranking up theirs, since it seems like competition to MS3. It would be nice to see 300. Im used to high powered FW cars,

Yeah, this year was pretty much just a feature standardizing (with the stereo being the same all around) and changing the instrument panel from red to white, if I remember right. That's all I noticed between the '11 I looked at in Dec to the '12 I bought in January.

Yeah, it was just minor interior aesthetics. Good changes IMO. And its brushed nickle fucker get it right!

Don't forget about the blind spot monitoring system. And they also got rid of the 6-CD changer to a single one.

I was talking about the screens and dash lights going from red to white. But I forgot about the dash trim pieces that used to match the seats. Good catch.

For 2012 they toned down the front end smile on the standard Mazda 3's (at least thats what i read). Considering the amount of parts and panels that are shared between the standard 3 and the Speed3 id guess that we wont see a redesigned Speed3 until a redesigned nonspeed 3 is announced. And since they just had a tweak, even though its small, I dont think they'll get another one for at least another 2 years. My 2 cents.

The new cx5 hit already, and I believe that all of Mazdas 2013's are out already. I doubt that there will be a 2013, I can't imagine them making the pu any uglier than it already is lol.

I just placed a down payment on a '12 ms3 today (unfortunately needed a car and couldn't wait it out). When speaking to the dealer they didn't know anything yet about a 2013 model, they said if anything it'll be around August.

Hopefully Mazda continues the Speed3 through at least 2013... I'll be in the market for one in January and it'd be a lot better to pick up the new one than to find a "new" 2012.

2013 gets USB audio input, black mica mirrors, black mica lower bumper, black mica inner rear spoiler, dark grey painted wheels and if you opt fot the tech package you get a full screen navigation like the CX5.

I actually talked to a sales rep at a dealership recently about the 2013s, they aren't changing anything, he said if they do change anything, it might be like they changed the 2011s to 2012s or 2010s to 2011s, very minor things.

No powertrain changes.

There's definitely the back end of a speed/mps shown in the brochure with new wheels. It's the silver one with the 2 layer spoiler.

I believe the 2.0 DISI is the skyactiv motor, but I could be wrong. But since that's in German (I think) all the power measurements are metric and I don't know the conversion off hand.

The full screen nav they show on page 25 is definitely just a Pioneer X940 with what looks like any standard double din dash kit.

And that wing is the same wing that we have...

Read the thread... no SkyActiv anything for 2013 MS3. The next gen MS3 - if there is one - is likely to feature a boosted SkyActiv engine but don't expect to see the same super fuel economy as the regular stuff.

I'd also argue that a new engine will likely set tuners back for a while as they figure out how to work with it.
