The body view of the ms3 is an up to date version. notice how the sideview mirrors stay black when you change color and how they removed the nagare styling from inside the headlights. I personally am glad I got a 2012. Would have liked the head unit but whatever. Was really hoping they would have went with the new styling like the 6. But yes, they still use the same damn crappy interior photos from like 3 years ago.

I also would have liked the touch screen but its probably a better deal to get a 2012 now and i guess if you really want a touchscreen it can always be installed at bestbuy or whatever.

Well since my car is black the mirrors and rear bumper don't really make a difference to me.

I would like the gunmetal stockers though. They won't show the brake dust as much...

I don't think they removed the nagare headlight styling. I think it's still a tech package feature because it still says they're the bi-xenon projectors. The non-tech headlights have a separate reflector high-beam where the nagare features go. I could be wrong though... I just don't know what they'd put on the inner 1/3 of the headlight if the tech headlights are bi.

2012 CWP w/ tech: $27,130
2013 CWP w/ tech: $27,680

Can't beat that small increase considering all the new additions with aesthetic and audio system changes.

I wonder if the 2013 nav can be retrofit to the 2010-2012 models. Not that I would seriously consider it, since it would probably cost an assload ($$$ for the actual head unit + probably having to switch to the low res MID since the color MID has the old nav).

Someone is bound to make the jump, though

The SD slot for the nav is also not located up by the MID screen anymore. I image a retrofit would be a lot of trouble...especially if you already have nav in your 2012.

not exactly what all the options are. I know some are like making the turn signal blink 3 times when you bump the signal stalk. and changing it so that the car locks itself if you walk away with the fob in your pocket.

I'm ready to pick up a 2012 Speed3 here in NJ to replace my 2004 Mazda S Hatch with 156K miles. I spoke to a dealer via email up in Ramsey, NJ and they said the 2013's would be hitting dealerships in early November. He also said that Mazda is currently offering $1,500 off 2012 Speed3's (factory rebate), which I haven't seen anywhere online including the Mazda site. I like the gunmetal grey wheels and black accents on the mirrors and bumper but not enough to spend an extra $1,500 plus lose my negotiating power on reducing it further. Not sure about elsewhere but there is a ton of stock in NJ on 2012 Speed3's so I suspect dealers will be trying to get them off the lot and I'm thinking with an 810 credit score I should easily be able to scoop up a 2.9% rate on 36-48 months...

You can get 2.99 on 60 to 72 m os with a 675 right now so check around. All the options and the new hu are why I went 13 or I would just keep my 10. I am thinking I should be able to keep payments around 400 on a tech 13. I am looking at 200 above invoice on the new car which is almost 3k off msrp of 27.7k plus the cwp color for 500 then its ttl etc that brings it up to around 26-26.5k. (sales tax in id is 6% alone). Dealers are pretty motivated right now....good luck with the hunt JP Patterson

BTW that 26.5k is before ly dealer rebate which should be 500 to 750 but hr was unable to forecast into December.

Money is definitely cheap if you have a solid credit score. I thought about buying it outright but with money being as cheap as it is, i'd rather hold on to the extra cash. TONS of inventory here in NJ and I'm skipping the tech package, I'm a bare bones, no frills guy. Would rather put that back into the car in performance since it comes with a decent stereo unlike others in the class.
