And why is that when I press down on the gas pedal, the car wants to drive through a store front window? Dont get me started on the scary front face.....

So I picked up a silver 2012 tech in Seattle and drove east over the Cascades and the one surpise to me was the way it handled. A little sway in the back but its alot of fun and hugs the road very nicely. I'll post a pic if ya care when I come back Saturday.

I will though donate as much as I can to this forum because you guys have been a huge help. I have not posted much but have spent alot of time reading.

Get an upgraded rear sway bar from JBR and it'll take care of this problem. It's a very easy mod to install and it comes in black so you won't look like a punk ricer. Welcome!

Welcome old man lol. We're all young when behind the wheel of our MSxs. Even GenWon owners . If you do upgrade that rear sway bar, after installing make sure you go into an empty parking lot and make some sharp turns while you lift fast off the throttle in 1st or 2nd gear. The stock rear swaybar IS enough to induce lift-throttle oversteer so I can only imagine a bigger bar to make this more apparent. Obviously at high(er) speeds this tendency will go away and I imagine make the car feel better. Just throwing it out there... wouldn't want another GenPu to literally spin off the road.

I, too, am an Old Codger (49).

The beauty of these cars (as I see it now) is their stealthiness. Genpus look like a slightly sportier generic wagon. Today a Bmw 5 series sneaked in front of me, I let him in. Next light, I was two cars behind, both cars in front of me turned at the same light and I was happy to hit boost and cruise by the beemer effortlessly.

Such a great feeling car.

Maybe you guys can comment on this, when I picked up the car it had 2 miles on it. I drove for about 45 miles and stopped and smelled a burning smell. You could smell it coming out of the hood scoop. I drove it easy. Heading back home today and I no longer smell it. So I assume it was just burning off new car shit. Sound right?

I had some hot young chicks smile at me in a small town in Eastern Washington. This car is gonna get me laid....

Welcome. Great first post. That burning smell is just the turbo, heat shields, manifolds, etc. heating up. The first few times you get on the boost hard you will smell it again. Nothing to worry about. I smelled it off and on for the first 200-250 miles at times. Enjoy the car.

Traction in second is non-existent. Traction in third is sketchy.

Well you have me beat but only by 1 year! I'm 54 young and have recently had a Civic SI, then a WRX, now a 11 Speed 3. Got the Speed 3 for it's MPG after researching for 6 months. I think it gets the best MPG out there for fastest pocket rocket. Had it one year now and love it. My son (20 now and in college) will get it when he graduates in 2 years. I drive it easy and average 29 combined----way better than my 2010 WRX which got 17. And I just love surprising all those Range Rovers, some BMW's and Lexus's here, then they stare at my car wondering what it is and how fast I get to 120.

I got you beat by 3 years. I'm 58 and am enjoying my '12 Velocity Red MS3. I got it by trading in my '07 350Z. Passion for high performance vehicles is not restricted to age. There's nothing better than getting pushed back into your driver's seat when the turbo kicks in. I actually think that these cars were better suited for us senior citizens who appreciate it just as it is, mod free. I don't know about you but at my age, the last thing I want to do is lay on the ground working on a vehicle. My time is limited...I'd rather be driving it
