Default Acceleration issue - HPFP?

Hi,

I sometimes have acceleration issues in WOT. I have quite noticeable power loss from 3000rpm. I really suspect the HPFP which is OEM, especially after the log I did in 3rd gear. My PSI falls in the 700's...

Can anyone confirm this? Or do you see something else?

Regards

Yes...your HPFP is...shitting the bed. Do NOT go WOT until you get an upgrade or your next mod will be a vented block. You obviously have not read anything on this forum.

700 PSI at WOT? Geeze, you really should have read all those links in the welcome PM.

Ummm, yes, I can confirm that your pressure is dangerously low. Did you look at the log before posting? Wow, just wow. Please upgrade your pump internals, that is all.

Is this a joke?

This is just plain careless. You obviously had the wherewithal to do the mods in your sig, but not enough to do the most basic mod required before upgrading power on these cars? Look, they don't make any cars anymore, there is no guarantee of another Speed3 from Mazda, the DISI is out of production, and Mazda does not do rebuilds on them - only full replacement. Do right by the car and order a set of Autotechs. You're doing the car and your wallet a $6,000 disservice if you don't do internals NOW.

FYI, I haven't had any issues with fuel pressure before temperatures got below freezing point recently and some of my previous logs done today were just fine...

Autotech internals will be installed next week. I know this should have been done before getting issues, but like I've told you, everything was fine before the cold wheater.

Dude. The stock pump isn't any good over 15 psi of boost. It demands more fuel pressure that the stock pump can't consistently provide. Cold weather exacerbates the issue.
Upgrade your pump or ZZB.

Here is a thread from a local nator member than ran a downpipe without upgrading his pump. He spent over $4000 rebuilding and did most of the work himself.

Not well... the HPFP barely feeds the factory build. Many have seen power improvements with HPFP alone simply because the factory unit is not enough.

I've read that you can't use OTS maps with the Corksport internals. Car would run too rich. That's one of the reasons I'll go with AT...

I've heard different. Pretty sure you can't run a CS HPFP without an AP, because you have to load their map for it

I was saying that you need a custom tune with CS HPFP and not OTS maps.

I've also read that they will launch their own maps, but the product started shipping and no maps from CS found on their web site...

Because of the increase in fuel we highly recommend that you get a new tune for your car. We have developed custom Cobb AccessPort specific maps for this pump. Compared to the OTS (Off the Shelf) maps from Cobb, these maps have to take quite a bit of fuel out, especially on the top end. In testing our pump with the maps currently available we were actually getting instances of flame out in high load areas because there was too much fuel for the engine to burn causing miss-fires.

Trading in my v2 ap for a v3 for the pu. To be honest I'm gonna try to tune maybe the airbox with a drop in. The spool sound is not good for me for now.
New speed will be a dd and I'll get a project car/truck

Oh, I didn't really read into it. Just saw they had their own maps for the HPFP on the product page, but apparently not.

From what I've read you do not need a custom tune with their HPFP - OTS maps will work fine. They are going to offer some custom tunes however, that are more in tune (pun intended) with their intake and exhaust.

I was talking about the guy who would accept the deal... He would end up with a V2 instead of a V3...

Oh... So if I donate, I will know everything and I won't have any issues with my car?

God, I just registered to the site. So much hate for nothing... Wanted to try before donating. But now, not sure I will. Seems hard to get help without hate.

Because over all the years, too many brownies come in trying to get free help. Never stick around and only come back for free help. And never donate to keep the site running. Ya know, like that friend that always comes over to drink your beer, but never brings any to replenish or any food? Yeah.

And judging by the modifications in your sig, and not knowing that fuel pump internals should have been one of your first 2 mods, especially with owning apu, its apparent to everyone that you aren't reading diddly on the site anyway.

Honestly, thousands of people have cum (giggidy) before you, and thousands will come after. And those are all Mazda enthusiasts. Any problem you have, no matter how ridiculous, has most likely been covered a few times. This is why people get flamed for not searching.

You'll only encounter hostility on this site if you don't have any consideration for other people's time. I.E. asking questions that have already been answered.

So take your time to search thoroughly, and you won't encounter any problems.

I did search. That's why I was pretty sure it was the HPFP. I just needed a confirmation. That's why I posted my log. Wanted to be sure...

You can run the Stock or OTS maps for Stage I and our HPFP without issue. I've been doing it for over 3000miles.

Now for Stage II you should be running our specific maps, HERE: CorkSport Mazdaspeed Accessport Maps
