Accelerator pedal for better heel/toe

Anyone use a pedal or pedal cover on their A pedal for heel/toe purposes?

To me it's not the height that's an issue, but the width of the A pedal. The brake and A pedal are too far apart and I'd like some solution to (likely) widen the A pedal a bit.

Thanks

I don't have any of these myself, but I've thought about contacting them to see if I can just buy an accelerator pedal alone:

I had very similar (in shape/design) pedal covers on both of my old Focuses and miss having the "stepped" leftward section of the A pedal ever since getting the MS3... I have somewhat wide feet, so I've pretty much adapted, but nevertheless I may eventually get a wild hair and address it. :dunno:

FYI,
I contacted AutoVation, they will sell just the Apedal by itself for $30 shipped in the USA, not bad. I'll probably get one, looks like a nice piece and $30 isn't going to break the bank, especially if it makes my H/T a bit easier (I'm more of a big toe / little toe technique, as opposed to true heel/toe).

Could save your 30 bucks (though its only 30 bucks so ehh) and figure out heel toe on the stock pedals. I had to relearn heel toe in the car since they were further apart than I was used to, but its completely doable. I've been using the right side of the ball of my foot to blip the gas while my foot is at a "10 o'clock" position.

Wish I could remember the name. But there was a site completely dedicated to pedals and would machine you whatever pedal you wanted and whatever specs. Will edit post if I find it.

Interesting that you say this but i find the pedals to be great for heel toeing stock. I guess it all depends on what you are used to.

...and/or how wide/big your feet are. ;)

... And the heel toe technique used and style of driving. I use the method described above by steveW for more relaxed or spirited street driving. For heavy duty track use i want the ball of my foot firmly on the brake and i blip the throttle with my heel. Skip to 13:45

I toe and synchro.

Which is fine for 95% of driving. But under heavy breaking where you want to keep your revs up (track), heel toe is the best option. Keeps you int the power band for corner exit and saves your synchros too.

And on track most importantly it minimizes the weight transfer to the front wheels which can upset the balance of the car. On the street it's bad - you feel the car lunch forward if you downshift and just let off the clutch, that's the inertia of the drivetrain being brought up to speed, it slows the car and transfers weight forward. The point of the blip is to combat this inertia (and secondarily reduce clutch wear). On the track at the limits of traction, bad things happen when you shift weight around like that.

I don't know if he still makes them, but do a search for sok07. He made some custom heel toe pedals for the MS3 back in the day.
