AGAIN REALLY

FUCK YOU MAZDA!!!!!

my drivers side seat broke for the second time again and its not gonna be covered under warranty cause im at 40k miles. it broke at the welds on the left side seat adjuster just like last time, but that was at 15k.

rodrigo 06-03-2011 05:44 PM

u feel any better now?

DONOTBUGME 06-03-2011 05:45 PM

You should talk to Rodrigo about how to lose weight or he can show you when he goes to nj.

Jeremy M 06-03-2011 05:45 PM

warrenty doesn't cover obesity:kidding:

manelscout4life 06-03-2011 05:47 PM

File a complaint to the BBB against Mazda and try to contact a Mazda regional or national hq.

That's an extreme safety issues and at only 40k miles there's no excuse for that, especially twice.

JS + MS3 06-03-2011 05:49 PM

dude that's a great excuse to get a set of racing seats. you should be happy.

What he said - 2nd break is a manufacturers defect for sure. You should go there and raise a stink, call national HQ and bitch to no end. Some things should be warranted for a whole lot longer than regular wty...

yea well it took a lot a time to save up for them, and i used up all of my money on the ap and hpfp recently so that was a big chunk of change lol

adlpb 06-03-2011 06:43 PM

That shit sucks man. I'd hire a good welder and try to fix it for the meantime until you contact Mazda corp

Raider 06-03-2011 07:20 PM

Sounds like it was welded improperly. Total lawyer situation.

My gmc Sonoma has seats slide into the dash all the time. 30+ trips to dealer for attempts to fix. Finally, warranty went up, no help from corp, or NHTSA. Shoved all paperwork in the emergency jack box, and traded that piece of shit in.

Go get a lawyer, or take it to a better welding shop on your own,

predapio 06-03-2011 07:21 PM

Milkcrate mod FTW

kngeducate 06-03-2011 08:00 PM

I'm curious....how much did Mazda want to fix it?

Most likely ten dollars... payable at this link... http://www.mazdaspeedforums.org/foru...payment&sid=ds

Silver Ecstasy 06-03-2011 09:52 PM

Wow, this is some bullshit. I'd be in the service manager's office conference-calling Mazda and wouldn't leave with that car until it's fixed. Hell, i'd park it in the entrance and get a ride home. Let them worry about it.

the seat height regulator is like $300+ for just the part. I found a welder in my area that said he'd fix it and reenforce the welds on the other side. and mazda is gonna be hearing from me about this because this is a major safety issue. this happened to me while i was shifting, and i knew exactly what is was this time. there should be a safety recall, cause this is the second time in 40k miles

fishin53 06-04-2011 12:42 PM

just thought this was funny.http://tapatalk.com/mu/a6898903-7c7d-c526.jpg

NCZ13 06-04-2011 04:34 PM

Technically youre over both warranties.

The 12/12 warranty (12 month/ 12k miles) for the part
and the 3/36 for the car

Unfortunately thats just how things go. I work for Hyundai, and forget that other brands have shitty warranty periods.

deyomatic 06-05-2011 04:33 AM

You can bet your ass if the airbags didn't work, or the seat belts didn't work (regardless of mileage) there's no lawyer in NJ that wouldn't see dollar signs. This is no different.

nick779 06-14-2011 08:28 PM

shit, i guess mines on its way out too, because mine rocks back and fourth with 3000 miles on it....

CCC 06-14-2011 08:45 PM

Yeah mine rocks back and forth too, doesn't always seem to click into place right. I brought it in once and they fixed it somehow, but it has started happening again and I am not sure what to do.

i8urgti 06-14-2011 08:52 PM

dude, id have a consultation with a lawyer asap

adlpb 06-14-2011 09:14 PM

Smells like a safety recall...

Giggles 06-14-2011 09:29 PM

All you need to do is call the dealer you keep going back to. Ask for the mazda customer assistance phone number. Explain to them that you had complained about it before. And they normally help with the bill...

Had a stupid bitch teenage driver do this for a clutch replacement at 38k miles. Clutches are only covered for 12/12

Just a suggestion for ya

safety devices are covered, I just had my seat belt replaced (for the second time) at 40k

9900rpm 06-15-2011 10:41 AM

Dude, I would drive the shit out of the car, let the seat totally break then crash the motherfucker into the dealership, and blame Mazda for it. Seats breaking is a safety issue, and since you had it fixed at 15K miles, there should be some kind of warranty, no?

Try contacting Mazda corporate. Make them pay for your welder's work.

It would only be a 12/12 warranty he is a 40k

True, but a warranty just might. Of course, since he's out of both, that sucks.

OK, forget about getting them to pay for repairs. Just crash the fucker into the Mazda dealership and blame it on the broken seat, then claim it all.

40k miles or not, the car is only a year old (2 at most). Seats shouldn't break TWICE in 40k miles/ >2 years.

ALIEN3T 06-15-2011 12:41 PM

Wouldnt seat be covered under driver safety. I Knwo seat belts and safety items used to be 50k (same as emisions but that went up) regardless if you have a warranty or not? I think calie its a state law. check into it.

My old escort seat belt track broke went ot dealer with 1.5 miles left tilli hit 50k (warranty out at 36k) $600 fix for free. So check into safety warranty, and if seat is one?

jack_hammer 06-15-2011 01:14 PM

your car sucks

deyomatic 06-15-2011 05:49 PM

Anyone who's ever driven a car with a manual tranny while sitting on a milk crate because the seats were removed will vouch for the fact that this IS a safety issue.

FYI...

mazda will sometimes approve repairs under warranty even if you are out of warranty... especially when it is a reoccurring thing, just need a good service advisor that can convince mazda that you got the shaft, its not that hard. i got an rx8 a free cat at 110k... those things are like 1400 bucks too!

very few things are covered under the "safety warranty"... seatbelts, some air bags(not even all of them)

not the seat

You are correct because I was the service advisor that convinced Mazda to cover a clutch. And with corporate, clutches are a wear item

Seriously OP I'm telling you get the customer assistance number. The dealer will have your previous complaint on file. That's all you need to get that covered.
