I recently bought a 2012 ms3. I have been looking to do some mods and the first thing i was looking to do is get a cold air intake. While looking for a intake i found a blog of some kind saying how changing an intake on a 4 cylinder car is actually bad and can decrease horse power because the motors are so sensitive to air. Any truth to this and also im looking for a legit website to order some parts from any suggestions?

Suffice it to say, get an SRI not a CAI. Don't worry about heatsoaked air this has been discussed at length already so lets not rehash it here.

SRI > CAI. SRI costs less too. Get one.

As to you calling us 12 year old retards or some shit let me nicely point out why your post sucked so you can avoid making the same mistake again:

1) You believed the internet knowing full well that the internet is full of opinions.

2) Knowing that the internet is full of opinions (many of them based on bullshit) in the future do not believe one source if it isn't an opinion fully backed by numerous sources.

3) While I appreciate your willingness to search beforehand I do not think you fully understand the lack of knowledge your brain contains in reference to modding cars. Because of this I would highly suggest that you do a huge amount more research before posting any more questions or advice.

4) For the time being stick to sarcasm and develop your wit to fit in and be accepted. There are many people here who don't know shit about cars but are accepted because they can mix words up with a gnarly stick and make it come out funny.

5) Towards that end I would suggest you embrace your homosexual tendencies as fully as possible. Many of us derive pleasure from pretending to be gay. If "you people" would just read my post. I wasnt reposting and i did search for it. I was asking a question about the sensitivity of a 4 cylinder engine. The second part of my post was just a simple question. I didnt waste anyones time, you just wasted your own by typing weak insults, which takes a whole lot of balls to do i guess. I didnt join this forum to try and act hard or be accepted by MSF cool kids. I joined so i could get multiple opions and advise from people who have already done the things that i want to do. Turbo engines are extremely sensitive to intakes because they can spool the turbo so fast it will blow. Trade in your car for a N/A 3 or honda if you wish to add an intake.

I recently put on a corksport SRI/TIP. I agree with other responses do your home work, look at other builds, read reviews of items. As for SRI/CAI causing a problem - uuh no. Breathing better is a good thing. Plus they sound fucking awesome!

Obviously i didnt know if it was true. Thats why i asked. What i meant to say was that they can reduce power in certain vehicles and was curious if that was the case with the MS3.

Only car I've EVER heard of that an intake wouldn't gain power, and MIGHT lose power is the s2000. Never heard of it in any other car.
