Another Mazda service tech filmed being an ass with a dash cam

This is one of the only mazda dealers in RI. I had my car there a few times for warranty work and didn't care for their service so I stopped going. Thankfully I haven't had to go back.
The owner of the car is a forum member but not active. Since this is on local news he's not concerned about keeping it low profile anymore.

You can certainly hear some wheel spin in there....aside from that God awful singing....ooof...

Un-fucking-believable... especially the fact that the guy sounds drunk, admits to drinking on the job, and still denies everything.

Fucking asshole.

And the dipshit manager that stands by this douche. I hope he gets canned. I hope nothing was wrong with the members car after all this. I was waiting for the guy to hit something.

Dralphy 09-02-2015 07:53 PM

In the video you can see the damn car torque steer like crazy and hear wheels spinning, yet he wasn't speeding through the town. What a damn clown. Obviously the dealership is going to try and deny everything to keep whatever reputation they have together, but all of the proof is right in the video.

Looks like a lawyer could have a field day with this.

This is why I choose my mechanics for the work I do have done VERY carefully.

This exact reason has me questioning bringing my car to any shop when I get the VVT done. I will definitely be writing down my mileage and making sure there is no reason for anyone to drive my car.

LatinKraze 09-02-2015 09:18 PM

Got my a fender replaced on my MS3 once. Got it back with and additional 20 miles. I flashed a tweaked Valet Map when I dropped it off. App was maxed at 50%, rev limiter set to 3500, max speed at 45 and running at spring pressure. I called them out on the extra mileage and they said they needed to test drive to make sure everything was good. For cosmetic repairs? Fuck off.

Idk about your situation, but we do alignments for a body shop that does alignments on almost every front end collision. But they are less than a mile from us, and we only test drive the car 2 miles at most for the alignment, once before, once after.
And that's a great idea with the map, I wish I knew how to tweak one like that, I would load it up while my wife had the car just to see how much she beats on it without me knowing, lol.

Makes me curious to watch my dash cam video when I get my car back from Mazda after the tech said he has been in a lot of modified speeds but mine felt like it was way nastier then any of them.

dinoxor 09-03-2015 01:39 PM

Would you happen to know what dashcam he was using?

I'm glad I had mine mounted discreetly.
Alignment technician took mine out for a small joy ride as well, going WOT a few time.

I was thinking the same about flashing a valet map but if your car is going to a mazda dealership i'm sure they would just flash over it, no?

MS3Shadow 09-04-2015 07:02 AM

i put the Valet Map on when i dropped it off the body shop to repair the rear fender area since a truck hit me there. and i came back to a popped VTCS solenoid o.o

i don't know how that came off.

did you use the valet map with the intake added? or just the regular 93 map?

I am about to drop my car off to have body repair done. I was going to flash it to valet so they don't get joy riding in it.

i had my CS Stg 2 intake installed. Used the Valet Mode + SF one, it included the intake in that map.

Weirdly, they didn't ask/tell me anything regarding the neutered car, since the map limited the speed to 50MPH and rev limiter to 3600RPM.

Awesome. Thank you for the info. I have the CS Stg 2 as well. I have been debating on telling them the car has been put in valet mode or not.

Natey 09-04-2015 09:44 AM

Victor Simoes is the mechanic's name, and he's denying everything? What the actual fuck? How retarded do you have to be to NOT hear it bouncing off the rev limiter while the guy drunkenly downshifts on the freeway offramp? "We went to the wine"

The 1st thing I'd have done is NOT call the cops. :smashfreakB:

Went to get my car aligned at a Napa that was highly recommended by others in the area. Dropped it off on a Thursday night, came back Friday evening when it was finally done, noticed 20 miles put on my car.

Bitch told me that they had to take it to their downtown shop, because they don't have the alignment machine at theirs. Then after, they had to drive it around to make sure it was aligned correctly, and I should be happy only 20 miles were on it, because they need to do at least 50 miles on trucks when they align them.

Only 20 miles put on the ODO, yet 60 miles off of the MID Est. Range left.

Another reason why I do everything I can myself. Don't trust anyone else, other than my father, to mess with my car. Except tuning, I don't let him touch that either.

mize13 09-04-2015 11:08 AM

Put a valet map on the car two weeks ago when it went in for paint work. 3500 rev limiter, 0 Wastegate, base timing. Picked it up 10 days later with 1.7 miles on it.

They drove it into and out of the garage, and down the street to wash it, which I would have preferred they not do, but whatever.

I left a sticky in the car that clearly stated the Valet Map was on, and wrote down mileage.

RalliartRsX 09-04-2015 11:48 AM

My biggest issue is, if I am going in for routine maintenance, I shouldn't HAVE to announce it's in valet mode and would prefer to be questioned about it (showing legitimate concern in my book) and why the restricted performance.

MS3Shadow 09-04-2015 12:02 PM

i think they just moved it from the parking spot to the shop and that's about it.

theurgy 09-04-2015 01:16 PM

This is why I have a dashcam with GPS which also shows the speed.
The problem is, last time I brought my car in at my local dealership for a simple job (didn't have time), I immediately noticed the tech disconnected to power to my dashcam.
I contacted the manager and told him and he brushed it off.
Last time I go to that place.

It was a body shop. Non Mazda affiliated.
