Anyone else use exxon??? Just filled up at exxon today. I love it. every tuesday it's 20 cents off premium and the cheapest exxon had it at $3.62. So I filled it up untill it just about overflowed. I don't know about everyone else but most of the time it's been around 3.85 - 3.95. Maybe I should go drill an oil well somewhere so I have the money to buy a car for every day of the week. Has anyone seen the palaces in " the kingdom " built from the money made off of oil from there country. They probably have servant that wipe their ass for them. Sorry about the rant. |
wtf, is this at every exxon in the US? edit: gasbuddy ftw |
Lots o' money to be made in oil. Just remember, you're the one lining their pockets with sweet sweet cash. :D exxon around here doesn't do 20cents off unfortunately. |
Sorry, but I... ...don't care how cheap Exxon fuel gets... I will not use it. 1) Chevron 2) Texaco 3) Shell 4) Valero In that order. No Sam's Club gasoline. No HEB gasoline. No rinky-dink gasoline. And no stinking Exxon. |
you actually pay attention to gas prices? |
isnt exxon=mobil? |
yes, exxonmobil |
mobil is my second choice to chevron |
I only use Exxon. It's a weird mental thing for me. |

I usually burn 94 octane Husky up here in Canuckistan; I was filling up at Chevrons when I was down in Washington last week; good shit, no knock even when it was hot out. I'm making you guys 32,000 barrels per day of sweet Alberta crude so keep filling 'er up!! |
shell all day! or 76 |
mobil and shell are gone from my area. Valero replaced the mobil's i think? and some VAVA crap is now here instead of shell... not touching that i use valero or sunoco now. |
BP! |
BP if not then Shell |
BP for me too |

I've decided to try to use only top tier gas with the DISI engine, I've only used Shell premium so far in my car (~800 miles). I had read some of Shells propaganda about their additives being designed for DI engines and reducing the amount of crap buildup on the intake valves... I am hoping to scope it around 15k to see if this experiment works. Also, I had read Audi recommended Shell for their cars when they had all the issues with DI buildup. FWIW Top Tier Gas: Top Tier Gasoline Shell Propaganda: Shell V-Power® - United States |
About 60% of my fuel usage comes from ethanol. |
I use the no-name (USA Gas) station on the corner. No issues. Actually, I use AAFES now because they have the only E85 pump within 100 miles of me. |

I have like 2 of those "top tier" gas stations around me, shell and exxon. I never even heard of most of them |
is something wrong with racetrack? there all over and fill up there often. |
Gas station secrets; save money fueling up your car - MSN Money All gas stations supply the same gas were ever you buy it. the quality is the same whether it be at exxon, sunoco,BP ect. Just fill up were its cheapest |
Yes, all gas quality is the same, except for the amount of additives and special ingredients that the different manufacturers use in their fuels. In 1994 all fuel manufacturers were required to meet minimal quality standards to meet the 1994 ASTM Standard D4814-93a "Specification for Automotive Spark-Ignition Engine Fuel". Some manufacturers have added their own special blend of ingredients to provide additional benefits to their fuel. Some of those companies have been classified as a top tier fuel suppliers. If interested, there is more information on gasoline at "http://www.turborick.com/gsxr1127/gasoline.html" and the top tier site that "jkmags" supplied shows all of the top tier fuel manufacturers. I use Shell 93. |
I only use sonoco.....93 and 100 on tap all of the time |

Express mart fuel... no Ethanol, more miles per tank! |
Every car I've had never ran well off Exxon fuel. My MS3 likes Shell, chevron, Conoco, and Tesoro in that order |

Shell is knock prone, imo, since they added nitrogen or whatever the latest and greatest additive is. If you notice, some of those "top tier" stations are Canada specific. |
the only one i avoid is shell. with my old car it seemed like i never got quite as good mileage when i filled up there. its probably all in my head. honestly when it comes to filling up my biggest problem is that the filler is on the wrong side of the car! |
