ATP Downpipe + UR Catback = LEAK After grueling hours today I installed the ATP downpipe, and can't say that I'm satisfied with the $300 I spent for me to have fitment issues. The kit comes with these 2 thingies that resemble crescents, one really thick metal gasket, copper nuts, and extra studs. Now for my issue. After bolting up the downpipe to the turbo, I got to connecting it to my UR Catback which has a flared, floating flange, when I slapped the gasket between the downpipe and the flanges I got a pretty nasty exhaust leak. What can I do to remedy this? I'm not sure how to go about properly connecting the two. Not to mention that I really gotta crank down the bolts to get the two pipes to meet otherwise there is somewhat of a gap between the two. Any ideas? |
Did you use the gasket ring thing supplied by UR as that is the only gasket that will work with their flanges otherwise Go to an exhaust shop get them to cut and add 2 flat matching flanges. I run the UR full turbo back system as i think i remember reading somewhere their flanges don't match with other aftermarket kits |
Well the UR catback did not come with it. And the ATP downpipe came with this metal gasket looking thing. Looks to be more of a spacer honestly. I managed to temporarily fix it using the gasket from the stock downpipe although it's a little smaller. I can still hear a buzzy leak somewhere although I can't feel it anymore. I might just buy a UR short downpipe and sell the ATP so the whole thing matches up how it's supposed to. Just need to fix the flange I bent on the catback from over tightening it. |

Are you sure the gaskets weren't already on the exhaust, i thought my DP and test pipe didn't include them at first but they were already fitted to each piece. |

I even bought a donut from OReilly, and that one doesn't do jack shit either. So I will probably order UR's downpipe and call it a day. ATP one is clearly not meant to bolt up to this exhaust. Not to mention it's slightly shorter too by about 5mm.. |
take it to an exhaust shop and let them deal with it... I had this issue with an ebay short DP and ebay test pipe(both different ebay brands).. I got fed up and took it to an exhaust shop and they fixed the issue. cant do everything yourself. |
