Noob question real quick.... Interesting that I see this thread today. I've read a million bent rod/clutch vibrating threads. I just got my MS6 a few weeks ago. today, I was fighting with my girlfreind while driving down the road... I accidentally pushed the clutch in maybe an inch or 2 while still on the gas mildly... not enough to disengage the clutch. I felt vibrations in the pedal. in nuetral or in gear while driving, there aren't any vibrations. but it still freaked me out. in my MS3, I had FFS many times, and never felt anything like that.... but i never just pushed it in slightly, I was FFSing LOL... Its extremely obvious when your clutch pedal is vibrating due to a bent rod, right? Quote:
you have no fucking clue what you are talking about and I wish OP could bitch slap you cuz you deserve to be pimped for your anus. |

it cost so much just for bolts gaskets and bs, spend the little extra and go forged otherwise all the labor of rebuild and shit is a waste gl either way |

anyone? |
That was my constructive feedback. Stop looking at the surface and read into the post. Dude should go forged. Or should i say should have. You don't go 35r to shoot for low numbers. Forged motor and go to town. People are way to pissy on msf lately. Its not as if I don't wish the OP luck just my opinion on his setup. Take it or leave it. But Ill save mods work and remove myself from thread. Sent from my DROIDX using Tapatalk |
please do remove yourself from the thread..... |
Dude like i said a million fucking times i didnt blow from to much boost. it was HYDROLOCKED. do i need to write that bigger for your dumb ass? nobody has blown from power or to much boost. Our rods are forged and i know several people running or have ran 28-30psi with no problems. |

freundb.........The 2.3 liter disi engine that resides in the 2006-07 ms6 and 2007+ ms3's have forged crank, rods and pistons from the factory. Their are quite a few people running big turbo setups on the stock components with no issues. IMHO, if one were to run a 35r to max potential, I would install aftermarket stronger forged internals to side on the error of safety, that being said, no one has blown from too much power, so please do some research on this platform. Enough fluid in the Cylinder will cause hydrolock, and it really doesnt matter what rod your running, when it cannot compress something is going to fail, a Pauter rod would have bent more than likely in this case as well. That being said, I think the wisest move for the OP at this point, if hes going to run a 35r turbo for the long haul, should get some upgraded guts and get a experience engine builder to build a stout setup. Good luck. |
To the OP, sorry about what happened man. I live local as well but JUST got my MS6 (fixing a few things before I drive it from the dealer I got it shipped in from). Hopefully I can meet up with a few of you guys. If I had money to donate I would, but family with one income = fail. Good luck, if I can be of assistance hit me up sometime. |

@freundb please dont provide false information if you are not sure what you are talking about. Good luck OP, I'd say get your hands on a stock rod and put in it in the meantime until you are able to buy better ones. |

First, I didnt give any false information. I simply stated my skeptisicm that it wasnt hydrolock it was something else, which was a statement I made blindly as I actually have no idea about his setup other than the 35r. That wasn't taken well which is fine, if he hydrolocked its good he bent a stock rod and not a different one he just spent money on. That would suck. Second, why are you mentioning me? I said I was leaving so the OP can get back to his orginal post of his problem and looking for help. I dont give a shit if you want to flame the fuck out of me but do it by another means so the OP can get on with his thread. Finally, to the OP, didn't mean to delrail your thread with my skeptisicm and the insuing flamage. For that happening I apologize. I was simply being skeptical of the reason you bent a rod and thats all (with a little hostility I admit). I know how having a car down sucks regardless of the reason and I do wish you good luck and hope you're up and running soon. |
