(Thread Starter) | Not Ranked : 0 score The reason being (in short) was my D.O. progressive meth controller freaked the fuck out (bad ground or something) and started spraying meth at full spray when my car was idling, which caused my rod to bend. Long story short i spent all my savings on my BT build and was just seeing if anyone wanted to donate to the cause, anything would be helpful and yes I already ran this by kevin before I made the thread. paypal = Bobalicious5@yahoo.com I will be doing as much work as i can with the help of NATOR NM, but will most likely need to take it to a machine shop to get everything buttoned up. Troll if you want, blah blah blah, just trying to get the only punicorn back up and running. I plan on reusing the stock pistons and using K1 connecting rods, Dustin and I will getting together this weekend and putting a list together on everything ill need for the rebuild. Thanks Rob

Cant pull the rods out with the engine in the car from the bottom..they wont clear the crank. crank cant be removed with the engine in the car..its been a while since i dropped my oil pan someone correct me if im wrong. I think easiest way would be to pull the engine. More space to work. | |

| Well our pistons have floating wrist pins. Ive heard its been done before but have never seen anyone actually go into detail about how it was done. It gets kind of tricky with the crank in the way but the advantage you have is the other cyl's are fine. This should give you better manipulation of shoe horning that rod out.. But i dunno man, ive never seen it done. Its a bummer you cant borrow against your 401K or anything like that. Thats the logical way to do it but someone spoke of actually doing it from the bottom, which obviously poses some challenges here.

| Not Ranked : 0 score the pistons will NOT come out of the bottom of this engine even with crank removed, if you cant get pistons out how the fuck you gonna remove a rod from the wrist pin ...... you cant ..... the rings will expand as soon as they are dropped out the bottom of the bore and when you realize the piston is too fat to come out the bottom the rings have expanded and wont go back into the bore from the bottom they you sir have a fucking stuck piston in your block. I know this for 100% because i tried to take a piston out the bottom of my empty blown block and it got stuck even with everything removed it does not fit. |

| Not Ranked : 0 score I'm not convince by any means spraying Meth at idle did it. I ran my car for over a week with the Meth spraying non stop; idle, wot, cruising etc til I noticed one of the lights on the controller that was lit up should only be at WOT lol. Sounds suspicious I don't see meth causing a bent rod like that

| Not Ranked : 0 score Lol, anything in the cylinder that won't compress can potentially cause a bent rod. Fuel doesn't just pool into the cylinder when it's injected (otherwise it wouldn't ignite and it probably would end up hydrolocking). Fuel is atomized into the charge of air, essentially creating a mist in the cylinder, which CAN be compressed. Anyways, why don't you just sell your BT to fund your rod replacement? It's pretty lame to ask for donations so you can finish your BT build. If this works though, I'm a poor college student and need donations for my BT build, so donate away.

(Thread Starter) | Not Ranked : 0 score its not supporting my BT build. My BT build is done. I was just asking, not like ill receive anything anyway. I think i have decided to just replace with another stock rod which i can get local, just need to finish ripping her apart and replace. im waiting though because dustin is fabbing shit up for speed3's and is using my car to take measurements.

(Thread Starter) | Not Ranked : 0 score cant stock out. custom shit for 35r i wouldnt be able to get warranty work. Battery box = cut hard coolant line that runs across tranny = cut and bent to fit intake. black all over engine bay from open wastegates. plus dont have all my stock shit and pretty much every bolt is raped. we already thought of this.

| Not Ranked : 0 score You were going with a 35r on the stock internals? Next you're gonna say you were hitting 38 psi and can't figure out your bent rod. Sent from my DROIDX using Tapatalk

35r on stock internals yes, I know several people who have ran 30psi on stock internals without problems. How many times do I have to say my bent rod was due to a meth malfunction and had nothing to do with how much boost I wasrunning. I was tuned by Dustin a 26psi and shit was running cherry. Tapafucku!
