20w50 is a bit heavy.
The Rotella I'm using is 5w40.
The guys with built motors and bigger clearances should run something like 20w50

I will.
Thank you. Is it a full synthetic?
I've read about it in an article about racing/evo engines.

I believe so. The zinc, phosphate, and zddp content are what make it a great oil. Valvoline VR1 is available in regualr and synthetic both are great choices. The rule the dsm guys go but is if your making over 100hp per cylinder then you are def not in kansas anymore concerning stock oil reccomendations. 90% of the setup on here are fine with a good brand oil like PP, castrol ect of the proper viscosity.

This is great stuff guys.. Does it list the zinc rating on the bottles or is this something to look up? And what's a good zinc rating or number to be at? Thanks you know your shit about oil. So let me ask you this do most of you still run the factory 5w30 or do you use more 5w40? Also does any one change up from winter to summer?

i use rotella t6 5w40 365.

On another note, I'm always surprised when I hear someone mention mobile 1. I just cant' imagine going to do my oil change and not even being curious to wahat the general consensus is with our cars in regards to recommended oil and brands to stay away from.

The damage is done.

Your car hates you and will forever hold a grudge.

Just did my first oil change and had the same thing. Dark as hell and smelled like gas, this is my first forced induction car so I am guessing that is the contributing factor there. I went with penn plat 5w30. I thought about running Purp but the consensus seems to be it's way overrated.
