Blackstone oil analysis with high % of fuel.

What's up fellow speeders?! I recently got back my second oil analysis on my gen 2 from black stone. The first time they said there was a little too much fuel in the sample and that sometimes the motor leaves some behind blah blah blah. Well this time there was 2.3% which I guess is a lot. They said it could be from excessive idling, or I could have a problem. [emoji52] The sample was from the winter months and I was warming up my car maybe a little longer than usual. Not sure if that's the reason why but they said to send another sample next oil change and see if it has changed. Everything else on the sample was a okay. Any thoughts?!?!

How many miles on the oil, and what oil.

There was 4000 on the oil, and T6. Everything else on the analysis was good except for the fuel percentage. I even reused the oil filter because I tabbed the wrong one and it was too cold to get back underneath the car.

We had a local in PA come up with 2.5% recently from a winter run with a lot of short around-town trips. Honestly I'm amazed at these synthetic oils and how well they hold up because despite the fuel, he had like no wear metals at all.

Do you ever take any long highway trips? That would help your cause a lot. It helps drive the gas out of the oil. If you can't do that, at least make sure your engine is at operating temp in the winter before shutting it down. I like to take a longer route to work to make sure it gets hot, then let it idle in the parking lot for a minute or two and heatsoak a little bit to help drive some of the water off.

Yes I was doing exactly that. Driving short distances to work. I'd take the long way to and from every time my buddy questioned me about it all the time but he's not a car guy [emoji5]️ in the summer I drive 50 miles round trip everyday just for work so I'm hoping next analysis at 4k will show a lower % of fuel. I let it cool for a minute as well before turning off. I'm paranoid about everything in my car.
