Agreed- I waxed my wheels the week I got the car. After several weeks without washing the wheels, they came clean with very minimal effort. I just used car wax, but the specialty stuff looks cool too....

I clean the wheels every weekend because that break dust makes me friggin' nuts and the car looks like shit if I don't do it. Actually, if it rains the day after I clean it, they look like shit regardless.....the minute those rims get wet.....caked.

all this time, i've been dumping $5-$6 a bottle on wheel cleaner but those days are over. i bought a bottle of Simple Green to clean the engine bay a while ago (still haven't done it because I'm a vadge and can't get myself to spray water underneath my hood) but I had the 10:1 dilution already done in a bottle so instead of using my usual wheel cleaner, I tried the diluted Simple Green. It works just as well. With the dilution, a $5 bottle of Simple Green will easily last me 6 months with a weekly wheel cleaning.

This:

Eagle One Keep Clean Wheel Protector

Clean your rims. Dry it. Saturate your front rims with it and allow to dry at least 30 mins. Preferable 1 hour. You'll be amazed. It really works. 1 month later the rims are still clean. One downfall is that the rims are a little bit dull. It works. If you don't believe me, spray 1/2 of the rim (or one rim) and not the other.

at this point i'm switching to diluted simple green in the interest of money but the main goal is to have a car that looks good all the time, so maybe this stuff is worth a shot. simple green isn't aggresive to the surface when diluted 10:1, I'm wondering if I used the Eagle One and had clean rims for a few weeks, then sprayed simple green and hosed it off, if the previous Eagle One treatment would continue to repel dust afterwards. if not, I'm still out of pocket about the same amount of money if I have to keep reapplying it and cleaning break dust off with another cleaner.
