BSD + 70A RMM NVH? I'm trying to decide if I want to do both BSD and RMM on my daily driver. I installed a Sure RMM (without BSD) on my previous 2010 MazdaSpeed3 and the NVH didn't bother me. I recently bought a 2012 MS3 and I want to get an idea of how much NVH I will experience with the JBR 70A RMM and BSD. Anyone have this setup in the Northern Virginia area? |
What is you reasoning for removing the balance shaft? |
|
The plan I have for the car as of now focuses on removing unsprung and rotational mass. The balance shaft is just the first thing to go on a long list. I like the idea of "unleashing" power through increased efficiency. |

Cost to performance gains are greater with flow mods + tune vs lightweight wheels, rotors, etc. |
All those items mentioned above will come soon enough. But first, I want to relieve the engine of some parasitic loss, and make sure it's held in place with a better rear motor mount. So, can anyone answer my original question: what are the NVH levels with a JBR 70A RMM, and BSD? Also; is there anyone in the northern Virginia area with this setup where I could check out their car? |

I'm yet to see a before and after BSD on a dyno to see what or if there is any power difference. |
Make sure to avoid JBR PMM if you end up doing the BSD lol |

A) It's based on DSM's, not the MZR B) The vehicles have much higher hp than stock C) Every negative comment isn't backed up by actual experiences, but instead there's supporting arguments that there is no negative affect on the motor by personal experiences. Quote:

Go with stiffest RMM if it will be your only upgraded mount for now. Just avoid his mounts all together and go Damond Motorsport tbh. I've had his whole trilogy and been disappointed, currently running a 2nd PMM after remodding my MS3 and I'm going with DM PMM to match my existing DM TMM that I replaced a JBR for |
I still haven't had my original question answered: What levels of NVH are to be expected from a JBR 70A RMM + BSD? |
In all reality, you're never going to get that question answered until you try it out yourself. NVH is so subjective, that someone may come in here and tell you the NVH level with that setup is perfectly tolerable, then you go a head and do it and hate life. Read through any motor mount review thread and you'll kinda see what I mean. Just about any mount, no matter how soft or stiff will get a wide range of opinion on NVH. |
