| Not Ranked : 0 score Get a Husky or Kolbat ~200 piece set, then add from there as needed. Quality the first time, goes a long way and they are pretty decently priced too. If the set doesn't have ratcheting closed box wrenches, pick up a metric set as well.

| Not Ranked : 0 score My parents bought me a basic set when I was ~16 or so. It was probably about the $100 standard issue Craftsman set. I probably still have almost all of those tools. Among the other tools that I've purchased in the 30 years following, I'd have to say that the gear wrenches are now used the most.
