*Update* Thanks to all the suggestions gents. After attempting to push the car to no avail, and bumping the starter with the clutch and gas depressed, the last resort was taking a blunt softened end into the follower and tapped it with a hammer. After a few firm taps, the damn thing went in!!! Hope this helps out any fellow noobs that encounter the same problems.

I did this install several days ago and the only problem I encountered was the metal fuel line sitting high and had to work that some to get it in. I didn't remove the battery or TIH like some instruction call for, just had to pull a vac line off and another line aside and had enough room for the install, only took an hour.

I was scared at first but I read many how-to's and install threads and felt confident enough to go ahead. I never would have even considered doing this without the help this and other forums offer. I've done everthing to my car myself so far and have never taken my car to the dealership. I've found that the techs at some of these dealers know less about cars than I do. Thank you Mazdaspeedforum.

I think this is about the hardest thing that you will encounter during this install. Ho pefully you won't go through what I did, but at least you now know the solution just in case.

As long as you are prepared with the proper tools, you really shouldn't have anything to worry about. If you use a drive extension for your E8 socket, I recommend duct taping that sucker down to the extension. I've had to dig around on top of the transmission a few times when it fell off.
