search noob...
i have and this thread sums it up on 2 levels.

For the love of baby jesus if i read one more thread in regards to the tough clutch, i wll drink a bottle of bleach. Seriously, i have had my car for 2 days and i was excited to try this hard///sensitive///tough to get used to/// clutch.
WTF?
The clutch is a non issue. It is eaier than my wifes Skyline and with all the whiny gashes on this site i doubt any of you could drive my jeep with a mechanical clutch and chevy 350.

Anyways i digress. My main reason for searching is to see what others have done about the seats. They suck. period.
2 days and i can not imagine driving any distance. The ass portion is perfect but the spinal support blows.
Yes, it is a CHEAP 'racecar'. i get it. The greenstars like to throw that in often. i listen until i look at their join date and see that they are fawkin noobs too.
Actually, i have never seen a bb so full of hardcores that have been on the forum less than 1 year
Anyways, i digress, back to the shitty seats.
i have read and just bumped a catskin thread in the 'interior' section that i now realize will never be replied to as the OP has not been back since March.

So, to my actual blah, blah, blah question.
Has anyone redone their seats in leather and added more foaming/different foaming to make this ahem...cough...race care more comfortable?

tricky...hard...potatoe...potato
You know, i do believe a lumbar support would solve the 'space' between spine and seat.
But genpu no havie.

Do you have any thing of substance to add regarding the seat or are you here to troll?

true^ although he may have been a troll. Funnily enough there was a consensus that it was 'kinda' stiff on that thread.

join date june 2012...YOU are a noob.
Maybe if you opened your brain and looked at the actual green donation promotion, you might NOTICE that the goal for donations has been MORE than doubled.
So, should i donate this year to a goal that has been FAR surpassed
OR
should i donate next year to the NEW goal?

PS... of all the forums i belong to, this one wins for strong arming first posters to DONATE. Fawkin relax and let them check it out before you try the donate attacks.

i will donate but not when noobs like you TELL me too.

There are some stellar folks on this site that have shared great info. That alone is a reason to WANT to donate not because noobs like you TELL us too

But there is a difference, I have donated, I have supported this forum, I have been active in my nator section. It does not matter if we meet our goal or not it is that we have the privilege to have a site that is ad free and no pop up's at all.

another noob chiming in. When did this forum start? if not long ago, then i will retract my noob comments to you and poohmanchoo.

i will link you to another thread where the clutch is very much the central point of the discussion. As i have said i may be green...err...brown here but i am not green to how hard ass forums work.
i have spent many hours gathering info, bookmarking it to use as a resource. i also have added a couple good things to this site.
PS, as i have never had a cock stuffed up my ass, maybe you can enlighten us all how stiff that really is

Faggot, you joined last month. knock it off with your bullshit.
And that is the info i was looking for. So, when i go to the donate button, i have a choice starting at $25.
You state that the goal is a monthly goal?
i will need to re read that as i TOTALLY missed that. Thank you again.

As for the master tech....how long has this site been active (i am sure i could search but help a 'brother' out) ?

i guess as a noob, here is what i see in my hours i have spent searching and reading...

1/ HUGE callout to brownstars to donate without any reason why they should in thread after thread. Now i am sure that some of you will pull up the threads that show the kinder, gentler msf approach to donations but for the ones i come across, not so much.

2/ members with less than a year here acting like they have been here forever and yet are still noobs just like me.

This is an awesome site.
i will donate.
i have contributed already with one good thread.

i just want to know if anyone has rebuilt their fawkin lousy seats to be more comfortable

Thank you for that poohmanchoo...

Give us some substance to work with on how that seat feels so good on a 18hr drive, because when i google it, the biggest complaint is in fact the fawkin seat.

i get the whole msf 'faggot' shtick.

Their was a thread on corbeau forza 1 racing seats....but this was in a MS6. These are racing seats, though, so not made for long term comfort, just support.

If your going to be a bear, be a grizzly.

FWIW, I am skinny 6'3, and find the most comfortable in MS3 is to be squished in, seat close up, steering wheel so I can see gauges. About the same position as riding economy on a flight. Have not taken a long trip yet (all sub two hours), but don't see being an issue.

[ducking into this thread] ok, before i get bashed into noob hell with groans galore, i will end with this...

i will be the pioneer. i will do a write up and pic thread on upgrading the seats.
i have a buddy that owns an upholstery shop. He did my dodge with katskins and new foam and the seats are like a piece of heaven.

i am an 'old' guy and the spine support sucks. The ass part is awesome. i need leather anyways (dogs), so i will get him to do all 4 backs with better foam.

it will be a couple weeks. because this week i am getting a remote start/alarm installed. Next week i will aim for the interior.

take it for what it's worth, but an aftermarket alarm and remote start is usually a bad idea on these cars. They always seem to mess with the immobilizer system and the car has problems starting sooner or later (usually sooner). you can risk it, it's your car. But IMO it's not worth it. But then again, I've never felt the need to install one so I'm going off of what I read here.

I am 6'4" and it fit pretty comfortable, I lowered the seat as far as it would go, pulled the steering wheel all the way out and adjust it up and down as required, if you want comfort you should have bought a different car, my comfort is dropping the hammer against cars that cost twice as much and are supposed to be fast, I grin as im pulling away and their jaws drop thinking WTF is that car.

not what i wanted to hear.
i guess i need to google search that as i really want remote start (its cold up here).
Maybe you can answer this?
Is there anyway to start the car and lock the doors with it running?
Thanks

i hear ya man, i am the idiot that bought the car without ever having seen it in person.
i had my jeep for sale and if it sold i am sure i would be sitting in a S4 or wrx sti, but it did not so the speed3 is where i am at.
i do love it in the 4 days i have owned it but the seats are going to be the grief factor for me.
No biggie, i budgeted to redo all seats in leather and i will get them to 'comfort' it up for me. Its not a track car and its not a 1/4 mile car so i am sure the upgrade of comfort will not hurt its performance.
Cheers

I have at least a partial solution. I am 6', with super long legs so I can relate to the problem of the pedals being too close and/or the steering wheel not telescoping out enough. I added spacers under the front of the seat where it mounts to the floor. Fortunately the seats mount flat to the floor so it's easy. I had some 3/8 inch thick aluminum around so I cut square spacers, then drilled a hole in the middle. I bought longer bolts at Home Depot- they are metric so I matched the thread size. The raised front of the seat helps me immensely with thigh support. It's not perfect and I still wish the steering wheel telescoped out a little more but it certainly is an improvement. Give it a try.

I like this idea. Might need to look in to it. The seats aren't bad, though I don't love them, either. My biggest gripe is that the bottom feels like it is leaning forward (or at least isn't leaning back as far as I'd like).

I came from a GTO, so I was absolutely spoiled on the seats. For an every-man's car, those were top notch in terms of comfort. Definitely one of the better road-trip cars I have ever owned. The MS3 isn't all that bad (took it for a 3-hour trip, once), but it certainly lends itself better to spirited, yet shorter commutes than it does long road-trips. I do prefer, by a long shot, the cloth inserts of the MS3 over the all leather surface of the GTO seats. Leather is either too warm or too cold and is much to slippery for my tastes (even with the generous bolsters of the GTO).

This!

And I agree with OP. There's something about the placement of pedals, wheel, shifter that's just not quite right. After months of making adjustments, I have finally got it to be acceptable but the steering wheel still covers the top portions of the instrument panel from view.

I am 6'2 and fat and have no problems getting confortable in this car. One of my first cars was an 85 single cab s10 with custom buckets i 17 so still flexable, but everytime i drove that thing my knees where in my chest, but was still comfy once i got used to it.

As far as the pedals, i think they are fine. My previous car a for probe GT, the gas and break where way to close together and with my giant ass feet (size 14) i would sometimes catch the gas peddle while breaking, that sucks.

And the clutch in this car is tricky, compared to every other stick I have driven, hard to press in not at all, a little bit more of a learning curve for the friction point yes aka tricky.

@013; i am glad to see you have stopped coming in with guns blasing that never gets people very far here. The 25 dollar donation is worth it just for the amount of awesome pron in the VIP section. Along with being able to access the for sale threads, you will have a ton of money modding your car with that. more than likely save 25 dollars on the first thing you buy. Oh and access to the mazda shop manual for your car

Thanks Deldran.

i did get out of my car and locked it with the key, it was still running so i guess that is one question answered.
But, it is going in for alarm and remote start this week. i spoke with my buddy who manages the business. It is not a big box store.
They did a ms3 last year with a Viper system and had all kinds of problems. They finally gave up and put in a Compustar, no problems since.

Anyways i may get 'used' to the seat but as i need leather, i will just get them to rebuild it a tad.
Cheers

The money from the jeep would have been enough to buy the S4.
But, i saved 30g and love this ms3. So, that is the reality of being 'prestigious'.

To lock the car with car running. Press start then remove key from advanced key fob and lock the door using the key. You won't be able to open the door with keyless now.
