Dude save your money and buy something else instead of a cat back. They don't give you any extra horsepower and are just noise makers. Buy fuel pump internals and an Accessport. Will cost about the same as a catback and will be way more fun.

If you buy a catback for a gen1 cali mazda3 it will throw a code.

Catback removes the second monitored cat.

OP....If you are worried about CELs I would recommend SURE TVS Caps.

They are guaranteed not to cause CELs.

I know you are probably skeptical that tvs caps will not trip a CEL but SURE has figured out how to make it possible.

If you buy them make sure you torque them to spec or they will leak. Install should be a breeze with the provided install video though.

That is good to know. I owned a lot of cars and never experience a cell with a cat back. Maybe that's the reason why OP asked.

Your engine will blow up , just after the wheels fall off, and you may die, thats how much power a cat back adds with out a tune.
