Ap and fuel int on the way, need to prepare!

Alright so my order for AP and fuel internals should be put in by tomorow with Eric ( really brought up a sweet deal). Now once my Ap comes in ill start the tunning and I wanna do my research on exactly what to expect, tips, learning the ropes kinda thing. I found ''Abilor's Tooning Guide for Noobs''. Anything else available or should that cover the bases?

Get the COBB tip. Seemed to really open up the turbo for me and really loving the fact I can hear my turbo now!

I'm pretty sure he meant tips on how to tune, not turbo inlet pipe.

Do a search, tons of topics on this site about tuning.

Well, one tip is to not do shit until you read Abilor's guide. Also, the guide was written a bit ago and if you have the newest version of ATR some of the tables are a bit different so keep that in mind.

The main thing you want to do is not touch boost or timing until you know what you are doing.

Figure out how to do a MAF cal and then you can adjust your fueling to match your needs. I would also recommend boost based tuning cause its easier and its what most people on the forum are doing nowadays.

Once you get the AP post up some logs too so we can see what's happening with the car.

Alright man sounds good, Ap was shipped out today and Internals will be shipped out monday so if lucky both will be in by next week and logs will come up. Thx

Look up the art cheat sheet @Bucker wrote up, its up to date and makes more sense to me than abilor's guide.

Don't spend countless hours trying to figure everything out, just pay one of the good tuners on this site for a custom tune and enjoy your car.

So basicly I will be putting up a log and they will take my log and make the neccessary changes and send it bk and then i run it and post up lets say a log of 4th gear and they do the adjustements ?

You will pay them 1st. LOL. Then they will send you a starter map through e-mail that you load on your car and do 4th gear WOT datalog pulls. You e-mail them back the logs and they send you a revision. This will go on for 10-12 revisions, usually. They will slowly walk up the power until you are happy with or your car has reached it's optimal power level. Cost's are between $50 and $200 I believe. Well worth it IMO not to spend weeks at the PC and still not get the best tune possible.

I got that he wanted tune info, When I saw his parts list, I didnt see a TIP listed. It didnt make sense to get a DP without opening up his turbo fist. But everyone does everything different. Like being a dick to people trying to help others.

Here's a tip... if you haven't looked over the required tools for the HPFP internals, you're gonna need an E8 female e-torx to get the pump off. I got lucky and had one in some $15 driver kit that was laying around.

I used a 1/4 socket on my pump torx bolts, worked great.
