Considering the MS3 - price? Hey folks, I am looking into buying a new MS3 and my dealer in ATL is offering $24,250 before TTL for the speed3 w/ tech package. Can some of the folks who have recently purchased a 2012 give me an idea of the price you paid (before ttl)? According to Truecar, this would be a good price, but as I read around the forum, I am seeing some lower numbers. Also, this was the first offer they gave me from the internet sales department, so I feel like they could go lower, but maybe not.. Before you give me a bunch of crap about searching, don't respond if you don't want to. This forum seems to be really touchy on that stuff, so I expect to get it. But I am here to post anyways! But, you guys and gals certainly look like you have fun on this forum and are pretty damn funny on a lot of the comments! Also, my screen name comes from the fact that I owned a 2004 3 hatch back when they first came out, and loved that car! This was my original screen name on mazda3forums, and lucky for me nobody here grabbed it! |
I purchased mine 2 months ago for 22,000 Out the door. |
@povee did you get it for 22k with the tech package? That seems too cheap to be true lol |

24k and under is a good price. you wont get much off cuz of the model. these models its hard to haggle cuz they only get so many. with tech 24k is nice. oh yea but i would make it 24k OTD. |

So, the offer they gave me was: MSRP: $26,930.00 Jim Ellis Mazda Marietta Discount: $2,680.00 Selling Price: $24,250.00 Services Fee: $399.99 Sales Tax: $1,725.50 (7%) License and Title Fees: $42.00 Total Purchase Price: $26,147.49 |
$20500 before ttl for 2011 without tech. This included mazda loyalty. |
$20700 for my 2011 before ttl No tech Sent from my T-Mobile G2 |
Those prices are almost the price I paid for my 2007 used. New speeds start at $32,000 here before fees and taxes. So much for our equal dollar making any differences in our prices up here. |
I paid 26k for mine 12 w/ tech package then another grand on ttl... This is from Oklahoma so I suppose just depends where your getting it... I think 27k was a lot but I am having lots of fun with it and love my lil red ms3... |
Thanks for all the replies! Looks like I should go in with an offer of 23k even (before ttl), then let them budge me up to 23,250 if they insist (so they can feel like the won), but I don't think I should go any higher than 23,250 or else look somewhere else. |
Just go by Invoice price. If you can get it around invoice you are good to go. Best price I got in 2008 was 600 under invoice, I bought it from somewhere local at 400 under invoice. All other comparisons suck ass, Out the door dont mean shit because sales tax rates vary so widely. |
I paid $24.7k OTD for my 2012 nontech. |

Employee price for me was23400 otd done non tech. Honestly, after the test drive they could of gotten alot more outta me. |
Location : So Cal Model : 2012 MS3 WITH Tech Package Price BEFORE t/l fees : $24000 -Sidewalk Chalk |
I paid $24,400+ttl in late April for my 2012 with tech. |
Ok, so I was looking at Mazda's website, and apparently you can not do bluetooth audio with an iPhone? I hope that is not the case, as it will end my search for a MS3 before it begins. Do people actually listen to CD's anymore? My 2009 Ford Escape does BT audio just fine.. please say it ain't so. |
You can. I stream music over BT everyday with my iPhone 4s. |
Yes I can confirm that. I have a '12 (non/tech) and can stream BT audio from my 4s no problem. Btw, ignore all the stories about ridiculous prices. I guarantee you it's NOT an OTD price and/or there was a trade involved muddying up the numbers. I got my '12 non-tech for 22.x before TTL. |
I paid 25600 OTD w/ tech for a 2012 in VA just 2 months ago. This was with no trade-in or money down, no fudged numbers here....just made all the local dealers know i was shopping around and requesting a official quote before even going in. And I also confirm, I use BT for phone calls and audio with my iPhone 4s constantly. works like a charm. even change songs on slacker/pandora from the steering wheel. |

Roughly 26k with tech package for my 2012. It had 2 miles on it. The price was after tax and title, but it does not count what I owed on my previous car. But I was able to talk them down from 28k, and got them to tack on the local military appreciate discount. The dealership I went to was itching to get rid of the MS3, due to them having a lot of bad luck with dipshits test driving them, and causing all sorts of problems, plus it was towards the end of the month and they needed sales |
22,300 before T&T w/o tech. Was the best price in this part of New Jersey. I went to almost every Mazda dealership within 75 miles and no one would come close. |
these threads make my brain hurt. stop comparing out the door prices. use Hassle-Free Car Buying Experience from Local Dealers - TrueCar with your zip code, there are a ton of threads on this forum with updated information on what people paid for their cars. SEARCH. Generally speaking 22k sale price before trade in/taxes/tags for a base car and 24k sale price before trade in/taxes/tags for a tech car is a good deal. Use truecar to find out for sure. I drove 200~mi to get the color/tech package and price I wanted, so don't be afraid to do that. if you have to add in your trade, you're going to 'alter' the out the door price significantly, so please exclude that when you post what you paid. in May 2011, right after the tsunami and stuff, I got a '11 CBM for 24450$, they had raised the prices because demand was still high but supply was low due to the tsunami. I had 2 other dealers price their cars at 24600~. |

So, it looks like $24,250 price I have been quoted is indeed pretty good. Also, thanks for the confirmations on the BT Audio w/ iPhone 4s. I have had the sales manager talking to me as well as the internet guy, sounds to me like they want to move this thing. I wasn't able to get out there to the dealership yet as I have been working late, but I told them I will be in tonight to test drive. I think I will just try to get them down to 24k even and call it a day. Based on truecar for 30101 zip, that would be a very good deal. I also gotta work on getting the best price I can for my IS350, but that is a whole other negotiation! :) |

Regardless, I love the car and would do it all over again. |
Seems like every few weeks, someone makes a post asking what a good price is for a speed. It's going to vary from state to state, person to person. So much factors into your buying price. I've seen posts, whether true or not, of people paying anywhere from 20k to 25k for a speed, with and without tech. Every dealer, is different also, and if you trade in, or just finance without a trade. Me, I went to 4 different dealers in Houston, and best price I could get was 23,800 before ttl. I know of a nator member here in Jersey, who worked over his salesman at Wayne Mazda, which is supposed to be the #1 selling Mazda dealer in the country, negotiated with his guy for 3 months, and ended up getting his with tech for 23,500. So there's no real definitive answer here. What it comes down to is your buying knowledge, credit rating, and negotiation skills. If they feel like they can get top dollar out of you, they will. If you're not in a rush to buy, and shop around, then you'll have a little more room to play with the price. Take the quote they gave you, and have them photocopy it, and go to another dealer to see if they can do better. Good luck. |

So I test drove a black ms3 last night. I have mixed feelings on it, I have never owned a turbo car and the lag is definitely noticeable, and strange. Like it doesn't kick in until over 3500 rpms or something. I guess it takes some getting used to. Also, the manual transmission seems jerky but then again, I haven't driven manual in a few years. I almost wish they had a auto available (I am ducking now to dodge the incoming insults :)) All in all, a pretty fun drive though and definitely really nice car at 24k. Sounds like they are willing to deal a bit lower on the price as well. So, as for price, i think $23,500 is a possibility. If I decide to pick it up, I will let you all know! |
I picked mine up for 21.3K before ttl(Non-Tech). I live in Cali if that helps at all. They threw in the service package for 5 years. Great deal I believe. I highly doubt that you will be disappointed in this car. Good Luck! |
I couldn't get my dealership to budge and couldn't find any 2012s with tech package at any other dealership in my area. Not counting trade in I paid $28K out the door including 5 year bumper to bumper warranty. I tried to get employee pricing but they would only give that on the normal 3. |
10% under sticker OTD is a good price for new cars. Out of the 11 cars I've bought I've never paid more than 10% under sticker OTD. It really depends on how badly you want the car if you can hold off extending the negotiations for up to few days even a week then it will work. But IMO as long as you're happy with the price you're buying it for then it doesn't really matter. |

Ive only been to one dealer and they want 25x OTD for a 2012. Im going to keep looking im sure I can find a better deal |

you really want the heaviez? tech pack adds weight. Sport model is key to win :] plus less expensive.. Seeing that you've come from a Is250 you'll probably want the tech pack doh :[ |
Yeah for being the first dealer/haggle i wasnt too disappointed. A lot of people say OTD prices are bs so my quote before TTL was upper 23k. Magsz from another thread is local to me and he paid 21 OTD for a non-tech. So im paying his dealer a visit this weekend, and hopefully have my ass in a ms3 the same day |
Genpu's are nice for the price range. I scooped a 2006 ms6 with 17k miles for 17000$ in 2009. wonder what the genpu resale at 17k on that dash will be in a few years |
Hopefully Ill want to have it a lot more than 17k miles, lol |
i hope you do as well :] just sayin that brotha |
:usa1:I am in central Florida area and have been pricing these cars for almost two weeks. Anything under $25,000 before TTL seems to be about average with the TECH package. I have only had one dealer give me a better price and that is $23,790 for a 2012 cwp mazdaspeed 3 with TECH package.:wizard::usa1: |

Got my '12 white with tech for 24200+ttl in phx. Made it easy to deal because cash buy.. |
I payed 21500 for my 2011 speed3. It had 6500 miles on it. They wouldn't budge on the price because it was the cheapest one listed in the area. |
I live in md I got my '12 with tech $26,000 otd |
I JUST GOT MINE LAST WEEK WITH THE TECH PACKAGE WITH BOSE SOUND SYSTEM A SUN ROOF, HOME LINK, WITH LIFETIME BUMPER TO BUMPER WARRANTY FOR 29000 OUT THE DOOR WITH ALL TTF, THE BUMPER TO BUMPER WAS 2560, AND TAX WAS 156, TITLE WAS 499 AND 500 FOR PAY OFF FROM MY TRADE IN SO IT WAS ABOUT 25K FOR THE MAZDA WITH THE CUSTOM OPTIONS THE SUNROOF WAS A GRAND FOR INSTALL AND THE HOME LINK WAS 680. |

It amazes me that so many dealers are willing to take a loss to get a unit out. Even with the current $1,250 dealer incentive and $500 military, the numbers just don't add up. There is not much room in the dealer price paid vs MSRP. Mazda must be offering the dealers some crazy nice (end of month) bonus that allows them to take a hit so often. |

if you can manage to wait, end of the year is usually the best time to buy, even the beginning of 2013. I got a pretty good deal on my 2010 cause i bought it in jan 2011, it was 20k+ttl (non-tech) and only had about 100 miles on it either way Good Luck! |
