Default Considering used MS3

Hey all, I’m new here and am on the lookout for a used Speed3. I’ve reviewed the thread showing me for what to keep an eye out for (thank you all, valuable information!). I came across one about an hour and a half away from home so I have not made the trip to take a closer look. I was concerned with the scratches around the intercooler housing. Any idea of what the PO did to cause this? It looks as if it was prepped for paint and left that way. Aside from that, it appears to be stock no mods. Thoughts?

Why did you resort to looking for a used one?

I'm not seeing the scratches around the intercooler you are talking about. Mind elaborating?

Between the two bottom bolts, underneath the motor branding.

That looks like normal wear from the gasket on the scoop.

Yeah, My S4 Turbo RX7 did the same thing. the hood is fixed, but the engine moves with throttle, so you get the TMIC and seal rubbing on each other.

red boost tube.

Somebody has modified this car, but we don't know to what extent. Maybe it's been stocked out? Who knows.

Also those are not stock Gen2 MS3 wheels - so I'm guessing someone had nicer wheels/tires on it at one point and just grabbed these to throw on when they traded the car in.

Holy shit you still troll here? lol

It's worth noting probably every mazdaspeed has been stocked out or modified in some way except for maybe 5-10% of the population. Always due your due diligence and check out the car thoroughly.
