Corksport MAF Issue New to the site and will get to donating here in the morning. I installed my Corksport inlet/intake and it was extremely straight forward until I got to the MAF installation. It seems that for some reason, my MAF has different attachement points. The provided screws that came with the kit will not seat into the MAF sensor. Would I need to drill out the holes on the MAF sensor to allow the allen head screws to seat properly? |
Do not drill anything, can you take a photo and post it. Where are you located and what year MS3 do you have? |
I am in Alabama down at Fort Rucker. I have a 2010. I can take a picture but need a host site... |
You can just upload them as attachments here. |
Will do...give me a few.. |
There r so many free image hosting websites. |
3 Attachment(s) Look closely. Notice the allen head top of the screw is too wide for the MAF hole... |
1 Attachment(s) Another picture... |
Umm. Maybe it's because I'm on my phone...but it looks like you did not screw in from the top of the sensor and that you're trying to "snap" it on. Did you try using the stock screws? Tapawhat? |
The stock screws will not screw into an allen screw. The way I understand it is you screw the silver screws into the assembly then push the MAF onto it. The screws are too big to fit in the MAF holes... |
no if i read that right, you set the maf onto housing with no screws then the screws go through the maf housing and bolt down. the allen screws are what hold it down. i think you have this backwards?:kabong: yeah if i read that right remove allens, place maf on housing, insert shiny allen head screws through maf so they thread into the housing and that will secure it. store oem screws in old maf housing from oem intake by lightly threading them so you dont lose them but they are not reused with cs maf housing(oem screws) |
2 Attachment(s) Here are a couple of shots of mine, the oem screws are not machine screws. See if you have the same part number on the maf. So you are saying the allen screw (threaded part) does not fit through the maf? |
I haven't had my cs intake for a while, but i remember a slight twist to get it into place. It should feel locked into place without tightening the bolts. does it? It'a morning, donation time. |
The allen screws will not thread through the MAF because they are too big.. |
So why don't you run to the hardware store and get some that fit? |
It looks like the screw is stuck in the spacer.... Grab pliers and a Allen wrench and twist it off. Boom your done...it happened to me on Friday..the screw got stuck in the spacer. And that's exactly what it Is in the pic...donate please |
So Airman3454 what up? Any progress with the install...... |
I hope he didn't start drilling shit lol |
Got it guys. Had to get some pentrating spray to get the allen heads out of the screws. I feel like a noob but all is well. Installed, no check engine light. I cant believe how loud the turbo is now! OH and I have donated..Go me! |
Wow I am full of questions. I installed the led kit for the interior and noticed that the overhead light above the rearview only goes to full brightness on one side when the button is pressed and is barely lit when set to go off when the doors are on. Is this a common problem or should I take it to Mazda for them to look at? And do the led lights void any warranty? |
Ummmmm I'm sure it doesn't |

I will swap out the bulbs tomorrow to take it in.. |
Dude, I was totally kidding about the bulbs. There is no way they can void a wares Ty for bulbs. |
I was just making sure. Hopefully they wont look under the hood |
