I'm sure you know you just wash and re-oil it right?

Dmurray06 07-31-2012 09:49 AM

Corksport's filter is a dry flow filter.

You could just order another one from them.

There are dry filters, and oiled filters. IIRC, the K&N filter is the only one that is oiled.

He has a CS and is replacing it with a K&N, therefor it cannot be washed.

The filter on CS intake can be washed. CS recommends using either the K&N cleaning solution or Simple Green to clean the filter.

My cs filter was messed up from rubbing in the engine bay, so picked up an amsoil filter. Non washable, but I can clean it with a vacuum

Pick up an AEM dryflow one, better quality and still a dry filter.
Advance Auto Parts: Search Results for aem dryflow
If you search I post coupon codes for them occaisionally.

I pretty sure the filter that comes with the CS intake is an AEM already.

You are correct, but it is a paper media vs synthetic.

Just get the K&N dry filter and clean it.. Or order a new one from corksport.. It ships to you in 2-3 days.

good find. The only visibly noticeable difference between the AEM one I bought and the CS one is the interwoven metal, whatever the fuck you would call it. A lattice?

Do you have a picture of the filter you have with your intake I can look at?

Clean it and re use it. It's FAR superior to k and n. Be smart ffs. Aem dryflow is known as one of if not the best air filters on the market.

Also of note is that oil fucks your maf sensor. If given the option (especially with what we flow through that relatively small intake), you should avoid an oil requiring media.

Cleaned mine today, dirty filter was dirty. BTW it is a CS (AEM) dish soap in a bucket of hot water let soak agitated a few times rinsed and set in the sun to dry. Second time it has been done good as new.

ok that makes sense, it is the dryflow hybrid media AEM offers. It looks more like a K&N filter with the mesh they put on it.
